Assistant/Associate Professor - APRN PMHNP/Women's Health

Major/Essential Functions:Provides academic and clinical instruction within the School of Nursing.Plans, coordinates, and conducts online, classroom and clinical experiences for students.Participates in scholarly and academic activities appropriate to rank.Reports directly to programmatic Associate Dean/Department Chair.Maintains academic standards as established by the school and the university.Teaches students in online and classroom settings.Assumes responsibility for and/or participates in the planning and organization of courses to which assigned.Provides academic advising/counseling to assigned students.Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school, program, course, and student activities.Plans professional development activities for self, such as continuing education offerings, workshops, professional meetings, etc.Participates in program, school and university committees, and in other activities associated with professional status.Maintains membership in and participates in professional associations by serving on local/state committees of professional organizations.Incorporates new knowledge and techniques in online classroom, and laboratory teaching.Conducts research or practice activities appropriate to rank.Displays a scholarly orientation to the assumption of the responsibilities of a university faculty member as defined in the Guidelines for Qualification ofFaculty Appointment Rank.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Leadership skills related to coordination of teaching activities.Effective verbal/written communication skills and proficiency in English language.Knowledge of curriculum and instructional design and implementation.Achievement in scholarly activities.Awareness of current issues/trends in nursing and higher education.Commitment to nursing education, research, practice, and teaching.Required Qualifications:Education:Doctorate in nursing or a related field and;Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited university.Licensure:Licensed as a registered nurse in the state of Texas or eligible to obtain a Texas RN license.National certification and licensure in Texas as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.Experience:Prior experience as a teacher in an accredited nursing program.Record of successful peer reviewed publications.Experience and practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner.Preferred Qualifications:At least two years of online teaching experience.Experience as a leader in health care or academia.A developed program of scholarly work including research, practice, service, publications and presentations.J-18808-Ljbffr
