It involves assisting with troubleshooting and contributing to accurate documentation for the success of the team.\n\nEssential Duties and Major Responsibilities\n\nLearn Fiber Installation\n\nAssist and learn installation, maintenance, and usage of equipment in installation under supervision within the first 30 days.\nHelp maintain a clean, safe, and organized work site, including any assigned vehicles.\n\nTroubleshooting\n\nSupport troubleshooting and resolving issues with fiber optic systems alongside experienced technicians.\n\nDocumentation and Reporting\n\nHelp document and input accurate data for reporting, invoicing, and improving workflow efficiency.\n\nTeam Collaboration\n\nWork closely with a team of technicians and engineers to help complete projects.\nObserve and learn about identifying cost-saving opportunities in processes, procedures, and inventory use.\n\nAssist with other duties as assigned\n\nEducation and Type of Experience Needed to be Successful\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent required.\n1 + years of experience in fiber optic networks or related field is preferred.\n\nRequirements:\n\nMust be authorized to work in the United States.\nValid Driver’s License - Including: Less than 3 major traffic violations or at-fault accidents in the last 5 years.\nReliable transportation to and from work.\nNo history of alcohol or drug-related traffic violations.\n\nPhysical Requirements:\n\nAble to perform the physical, mental, and environmental requirements of the job’s essential functions:\nStanding for 8-10 hours daily.\nWalking on uneven terrain, including distances over 1 mile at times.\nCrouching\nOutdoor work in all weather conditions.\nAble to lift 50 lbs.\nNot color blind.\n\nNecessary Skills:\n\nDedication to working as a team and collaborating with team members.\nAbility to adapt to new work and situations daily.\nUnderstand your actions impact the overall business and its people.\nHustle to work hard and optimize efficiency in operations.\nA strong work ethic that elevates those around you.\nExcellent communication with peers and leaders in the field.\nWillingness to work, nights, weekends, out of town and on call services.\n\nOther Requirements:\n\nAbility to work overtime, nights, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed\nAbility to travel up to 25% of your time, up to 13 weeks of the year allocated to travel work\nAbility to meet the physical requirements of the role in all weather conditions\n\nWork Hours: Monday – Thursday: 6:45 AM to 5 PM\n\n Hours vary and are dependent on business needs.\n\n40 Hour Work Week: Monday through Thursday, hours may vary with the workload.\n\nEvenings/Weekends/OT: As needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.\n\nEEO:\n\nBackbone Fiber is an equal employment opportunity employer.
