Assistant Civil Engineer/Project Coordinator
Johnson Service Group is looking for an Assistant Civil Engineer to help with construction project coordination.The position is fully on-site in San Jose, CA. This person will assist with coordination, documentation, and oversight activities to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and in compliance with applicable standards.ResponsibilitiesAssist in reviewing and responding to contractor Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals, including coordinating with the Engineer of Record (EOR) and consultantsSupport field verification and data collection of plant system componentsTrack permits and assist with ensuring regulatory complianceParticipate in the review and evaluation of construction change order requestsAssist with procurement and acquisition of supplies and servicesReview consultant monthly invoices and progress reports for accuracy and completenessSupport public relations and stakeholder communication efforts as neededPrepare meeting materials, including presentations, agendas, meeting notes, and action item trackingProvide general project coordination and administrative support to the project teamQualificationsTwo (2) years of professional engineering experienceBachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in civil engineering or a related engineering field OR possession of a valid California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate with two (2) years of associated paraprofessional engineering experienceValid CA drivers license Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, and Bluebeam RevuStrong oral and written communication skillsBasic knowledge of civil engineering principles and construction practicesStrong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a team environment6 month contract $44.62/hr.
