This role provides technical leadership for complex cloud initiatives, develops scalable and secure architectures, and drives operational excellence through infrastructure automation, monitoring, and continuous improvement. The Engineer IV collaborates across engineering, security, operations, and application teams to deliver reliable, high-performing cloud solutions that align with business and technology objectives.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nDesign, build, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and platform services.\nLead the implementation of highly available, scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.\nDevelop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK.\nAutomate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, and operational processes.\nEngineer and support cloud networking solutions, including VPCs, routing, load balancing, VPNs, and hybrid-cloud connectivity.\nImplement and maintain security controls aligned with organizational and regulatory requirements, including IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, application, and cloud service issues across production and non-production environments.\nEvaluate emerging AWS technologies and recommend improvements to architecture, performance, reliability, and operational efficiency.\nLead cloud modernization and migration initiatives, providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering teams.\nPartner with application developers, security teams, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and solution designs.\nDevelop standards, best practices, and operational procedures for cloud engineering and platform management.\nParticipate in architecture reviews, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning, and incident response activities.\n\nQualifications:\n\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent experience.\n7+ years of infrastructure, systems, or cloud engineering experience.\n5+ years of hands-on experience designing and operating AWS environments.\nStrong expertise with AWS services including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, ECS/EKS, Lambda, Route 53, CloudWatch, IAM, and Systems Manager.\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code and automation frameworks.\nStrong knowledge of Linux and Windows server administration.\nExperience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native technologies.\nWorking knowledge of networking, security, authentication, and enterprise infrastructure concepts.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nAWS Solutions Architect, AWS Advanced Networking, or AWS DevOps certifications.\nExperience with Kubernetes, container platforms, and microservices architectures.\nKnowledge of security and compliance frameworks.\nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise cloud environments.\nExperience with monitoring, observability, and performance optimization tools.\n\nWhy Mapfre?\n\nAs a global insurance leader with a strong local presence, we offer more than a job — we provide a purpose-driven career where your growth, well-being, and impact truly matter.\n\nPurpose & Culture: Join a company built on trust, collaboration, and inclusion.
