The successful candidate will have proven design experience and deliver on quality, time, and budget. This role suits someone with a mechanical engineering/building services degree who is enthusiastic, self‑motivated, and looking to advance their career. The successful candidate will ideally be chartered or working towards chartered status.\n\nResponsibilities\n\nPrepare specifications, schedules, drawings, and other contract documents through the RIBA/project stages.\n\nManage the mechanical design delivery of projects from concept through to completion.\n\nAttend project and client meetings on behalf of AECOM.\n\nPrepare planning, design, and feasibility reports.\n\nEnsure that project work complies with the Project Management Plan and Programme.\n\nQualifications\n\nPassion and drive for helping clients solve building services challenges.\n\nTeam player, ready to engage across disciplines and work together.\n\nGood communication skills.\n\nExperience in Building Services design, including developing detailed design drawings and calculations, specification writing, and compiling technical schedules.\n\nTrack record of having worked on Building Services designs across a number of sectors (e.g., Education, Science, Healthcare).\n\nExperience of seeing conceptual designs through to completion and dealing directly with clients.\n\nTrack record of having delivered low‑energy, sustainable designs.\n\nExperience in working knowledge of REVIT / CAD preferred.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nRelevant mechanical, electrical, or building services degree, or a relevant discipline with sufficient industry experience to allow Chartered progression.\n\nChartered or with qualifications to become chartered.\n\nAny Nuclear or equivalent experience in nuclear/marine systems would be beneficial but not essential.\n\nDue to the nature of the work undertaken successful applicants will need to have active UK SC Clearance or the ability to gain UK SC clearance, and ideally have single UK nationality.\n\nAs an Equal Opportunity Employer, we believe in each person’s potential, and we’ll help you reach yours.\n\nWe are a Disability Confident Employer and will offer an interview to applicants who have a disability or long‑term condition, who meet the minimum/essential criteria for the role.
