Plan, develop, oversee implementation, supervise, and evaluate programs and program staff.\n\nJOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nPlan and oversee the administration of designated Clubhouse programs and activities that support Youth Development Outcomes.\n\nEstablish Club program objectives consistent with organizational goals and mission.\n\nOversee the provision of day-to-day program activities in accordance with established standards and goals.\n\nEnsure that members are encouraged to participate in a variety of program areas/activities and receive instruction and constructive feedback to develop skills in program areas.\n\nMay be required to drive Club vehicles periodically.\n\nMay consult with parents concerning member and Club issues.\n\nSupervise, coach, and train all Club staff.\n\nEnsure successful development and participation in Club programs resulting in an increase in Club membership and average daily attendance.\n\nEstablish and maintain Club program goals and settings that ensure the health and safety of members.\n\nEnsure that Club staff understand and effectively communicate program standards; ensure program areas are safe, well ventilated, and well lit; and that Club equipment is maintained in good working condition.\n\nEnsure the evaluation of Club programs on a continual basis and ensure programs/activities respond to member needs and address their gender and cultural diversity.\n\nAllocate and monitor work assigned to program volunteers and staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisals.\n\nIdentify and support training and development opportunities for assigned volunteers and staff.\n\nOversee proper record keeping and reporting including activities and events conducted and breakdowns of daily participation figures, notable achievements, and any problems/issues.\n\nEnsure productive and effective performance by all program staff and volunteers.\n\nIncrease visibility of Club programs via posting of daily schedule, announcements of upcoming events, and dissemination of timely information for the development of advertising and promotion through mailings, flyers, and media releases.\n\nParticipate in fundraising events as needed.\n\nUnder the direction of the Club Director, carry out the duties of the daily food program to include but not limited to receiving, temperature documentation, meal distribution, and clean-up.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS:\n\nFour-year degree in a related field from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience preffered.\n\nA minimum of three years’ work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people.\n\nMust obtain Staff Member in Charge (SMIC) certification or Staff Credential per Childcare Licensing Board standards within 6 months of employment.\n\nMust have 40 DCF clock hours or obtain them within 6 months.\n\nGroup leadership skills, including an understanding of group dynamics.\n\nDemonstrated organizational, staff, and project management abilities.\n\nExperience in working with children and knowledge of youth development.\n\nStrong work ethic, positive attitude, high level of energy, and flexibility.\n\nStrong communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.\n\nMust be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities.\n\nMandatory CPR and First Aid Certifications.\n\nValid State Driver’s License; must be eligible to drive Club vehicles per insurance requirements. CDL preferred or must be able to obtain within 6 months.\n\nTRAVEL:\nTravel may be required to multiple Club facilities throughout Hillsborough, Pasco, Hernando and Pinellas County for training and/or other business purposes.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
