Based in Westminster Colorado, this incredible team is looking for a PT Senior Web Developer to lead the full stack rebuild and enhancement for our Flight Dynamics Services (FDS) tool. FDS is currently flying the CAPSTONE satellite at the Moon and will be the primary planning tool used for many future deep space missions. There may be need for a \"basic\" user-friendly experience for rudimentary jobs and a more full-featured experience for advanced use cases.\nEssential Duties:\nWork with end-users to determine and refine use-cases and the required/desired user experience.\nWork with software engineers with existing product knowledge to design and develop a solution that fits within the proposed front-end and back-end architecture.\nEstimate schedule and overall level of effort for the development, potentially involving analysis of tradeoffs within the design space as well as language and tool set choices.\nArchitect, design, and develop the user-facing web interface and related communication infrastructure with the server side implementation.\nBe a leading contributor to back end design and implementation as required to support full functionality and flexibility.\nHelp define database schemas and software database interfaces suitable to the data sets supported by FDS.\nCreate sufficient documentation describing the tool, theory, environment, design, and implementation of all facets of the interface and infrastructure.\nDevelop and implement a test strategy/plan for the web interface.\nSupport development and build-up of the server side by allowing prototype based front-end use for integration and test of the entire system.\nRequired Skills:\nAt least 10 years web development experience.\nKnowledge of web development languages/toolsets such as HTML, React, JavaScript, NodeJS.\nGood communication skills with engineers in varied disciplines.\nAbility to work with minimal supervision in a dynamic environment.\nAbility to document work effectively.\nPreferred Skills:\nKnowledge of AWS EC2.\nKnowledge of MongoDB.\nUnderstanding of Docker and Kubernetes / related containerization and deployment tools.\nBasic working knowledge of Python.\nCompensation:\n$60-$70 per hour\nPart-time role; 6 month contract\nEducation and Experience:\nAt least 10 years proven experience building web pages/sites.\nEligibility Requirements:\nMust be a U.S. Person\nSecurity Clearance desired but not required.
