The Engineering Technician's responsibilities include using existing skills in fabrication, machining and welding to build fixture, gauges and other specialty products in support of Engineering and Design product requirements.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nSupport metalworking projects from planning and fabrication though assembly, inspection and testing, using knowledge of machine functions, metal properties and mathematics.\nFabricate fixtures, tools and experimental parts to meet special engineering needs.\nUtilize various instruments including micrometers, squares and Vernier calipers.\nAlign and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories and materials into machines.\nSelect appropriate tools, materials and machines to be used in preparation of machinery work.\nMinimum Qualifications\nSet and operate metalworking, brazing, heat treating, welding and cutting equipment\nAbility to program computers and electronic instruments (such as CNC machines).\nAbility to read blueprints and design schematics.\nAbility to calculate dimensions and tolerances.\nIn-depth knowledge of machine tools.\nAbility to confer with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information.\nTeam oriented: work hard-play hard mindset.\nRegular attendance is essential.\n\nU-Haul is an equal opportunity employer.
