Join our team to advance your career.\nJob Number: 25-05142\nBase pay range : $100.00/hr - $100.00/hr\n\nResponsibilities\n\nSubsurface Investigation:\n\nEvaluate contractor submitted site plans and reports detailing subsurface investigations.\n\nReview contractor soil borings or test pits for specified site locations.\n\nEvaluate and report on Standard Penetration Tests (SPT) and soil and rock core samples collected by the contractor.\n\nEvaluate and report any concerns with groundwater levels collected by the contractor for specified site locations.\n\nLaboratory Testing:\n\nReview and report on lab tests of collected samples, including soil classification, moisture content, and strength tests.\n\nGeotechnical Report:\n\nEvaluate geotechnical reports prepared and provided by the contractor for each new tower location.\n\nEnsure the contractor provides a summary of findings, boring logs, laboratory test results, and recommendations for each new tower foundation.\n\nEvaluate the new tower designs and remediation plans for work needed to upgrade existing towers and their foundation to ensure all applicable codes and load requirements are met.\n\nUtility Identification:\n\nVerify the contractor has requested and obtained utility locates through the state's One-Call system.\n\nVerify the contractor has performed private utility locating services to identify any un-marked subsurface facilities.\n\nVerify contractor plans designating the approximate horizontal location of all utilities using surface geophysical techniques.\n\nTrenching and Excavation Plan:\n\nEvaluate the contractor's detailed trenching and excavation plan that includes minimum clearance requirements from existing utilities.\n\nEnsure the contractor specifies excavation methods and safety protocols.\n\nTower Structural Code Compliance Review:\n\nReview contractor's structural analysis in accordance with all applicable codes, such as TIA-222-H, IBC, and ASCE standards.\n\nTower Structural Analysis Report:\n\nReview and confirm that a properly signed and sealed structural analysis report detailing the tower's design and capacity has been submitted.\n\nFoundation Construction Inspection:\n\nReview and report on the foundation design submittals ensuring the necessary formwork, reinforcing steel, and concrete for the tower, shelter and generator foundations is documented.\n\nInspection and evaluation of concrete work may be necessary to ensure proper installation according to design drawings.\n\nSlump Testing Evaluation:\n\nEvaluate and report on contractor slump test results and ensure results conform to project specifications.\n\nConcrete Core Sampling and Evaluation:\n\nInspect contractor concrete core samples from the cured foundation taken at specified intervals.\n\nEvaluate contractor's report summarizing the core sample results and certifying the foundation's strength and report findings.\n\nSite Preparation:\n\nInspect and confirm contractor plans identifying site clearing, grubbing, vegetation and debris removal has been properly identified in the design drawings and completed upon site inspection.\n\nInspect and confirm rough and fine grading of the site to achieve the correct elevation as identified in the design drawings and completed upon site inspection.\n\nExcavation and Backfill:\n\nInspect and confirm excavation for the foundation and utility trenches according to the trenching plan has been properly identified in the design drawings and completed upon site inspection.\n\nInspect and confirm compact backfill material around the foundation and in trenches to prevent settlement.\n\nErosion and Sediment Control:\n\nInspect and confirm temporary erosion and sediment control measures as required by local regulations have been properly identified in the design drawings and completed upon site inspection.\n\nRequired Qualifications\n\nNYS licensed PE with experience in civil, structural and geotechnical engineering.\n\nDemonstrated experience in conducting and analyzing geotechnical investigations, including soil borings, lab testing, and bearing capacity calculations;
