This onsite role is ideal for professionals with strong technical expertise in maintaining and supporting a wide range of biomedical and life-support equipment. Candidates should be comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare setting and collaborating with clinical and engineering staff to ensure optimal equipment performance and patient safety.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of biomedical equipment used in clinical and surgical environmentsConduct scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and safety inspections on medical devicesDiagnose equipment malfunctions using schematics, diagrams, and technical documentationSupport, service, and maintain life-support systems and operating room (OR) equipmentEnsure all equipment meets safety, regulatory, and compliance standardsMaintain accurate service records, documentation, and reporting logsCollaborate with clinical staff, vendors, and internal engineering teams to resolve equipment issues efficientlyAssist in equipment installation, calibration, and upgrades as neededProvide technical guidance and support to hospital personnel on equipment usage and safetyFloat across departments within the hospital as requiredParticipate in weekend coverage and on-call rotations as neededRequired QualificationsAssociate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from a 2-year college or technical schoolMinimum of 5 years of biomedical technician experience in a hospital settingStrong understanding of medical equipment, electronics, and troubleshooting techniquesAbility to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and service manualsBasic computer proficiency and familiarity with medical terminologyPreferred QualificationsExperience with operating room (OR) and surgical equipment (required for early shift roles)Hands-on experience with complex biomedical systems and life-support equipmentAdvanced troubleshooting skills, including component-level repairWork Environment & Additional DetailsOnsite role within the Clinical Engineering / Biomed departmentExposure to a teaching and Magnet-designated healthcare facilityFast-paced, patient-centered environment requiring high attention to detailFlexibility to work weekends and float across hospital units as needed
