We believe strong dance instruction should be paired with strong character, professionalism, kindness, and leadership.\n\nThis is an *on-site position at our Dancing for Joy studio* and may include opportunities to teach multiple classes, age groups, and dance styles based on experience.\n\nResponsibilities\n\n* Teach structured, engaging, and age-appropriate dance classes\n* Provide quality instruction in one or more styles, including *Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Creative Movement, and Combo*\n* Begin classes with prayer and reinforce positive classroom etiquette\n* Teach proper technique, terminology, musicality, and performance skills\n* Provide corrections in an encouraging, respectful, and constructive manner\n* Create an environment where dancers feel safe, supported, and confident\n* Prepare lesson plans and follow Dancing for Joy curriculum and class expectations\n* Create choreography for studio performances, showcases, and recitals as assigned\n* Select clean, age-appropriate music that aligns with Dancing for Joy's values\n* Evaluate dancer progress and communicate needs or concerns with studio leadership\n* Maintain positive classroom management and appropriate discipline\n* Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes, rehearsals, and events\n* Communicate professionally with dancers, parents, staff, and leadership\n* Participate in required staff meetings, training, rehearsals, and studio events\n* Maintain studio spaces and equipment appropriately\n* Prioritize dancer health, safety, and well-being at all times\n* Follow the Dancing for Joy Staff Handbook, Code of Conduct, policies, and procedures\n\nQualifications\n\n* *2–4 years of dance teaching experience preferred*\n* Strong technical training in at least one dance discipline\n* Ballet training and knowledge of progressive ballet technique is a plus\n* Experience teaching children and/or teens\n* Ability to confidently manage a classroom\n* Strong choreography and lesson-planning skills\n* Positive and uplifting communication style\n* Dependable, organized, professional, and punctual\n* Ability to receive feedback and work collaboratively with studio leadership\n* Comfortable working as part of a team-focused studio environment\n* Must be comfortable working within a *Christian, faith-centered organization*\n* Reliable transportation to our *Riverview studio*\n* Must successfully complete required background screening and onboarding requirements\n\nWhat We're Looking For\n\nWe are looking for more than a talented dancer or choreographer.
