Aircraft Paint Prep Tech IJob Category: ProductionRequisition Number: AIRCR001923Posted: February 19, 2026Full-TimeOn-siteDFJ Little Rock 3801 E 10th St Little Rock, AR 72202, USAJob DetailsJob Summary:The Aircraft Paint Prep Technician I performs foundational paint preparation operations for overall exterior aircraft surfaces and removable parts.Principal Duties/Responsibilities (Essential Functions):Obtains/Reads/Interprets/Comprehends Process Documentation at Latest Revision to Perform Task AssignmentsSeeks Guidance As NeededMaintains All Equipment Before, During, and After Use, as Required, and Performs Preventative Maintenance on Equipment as Defined per ProcessMaintains a Neat, Orderly, and Safe Work Environment that includes clean up after each operation and/or shiftInspects Aircraft Non-Sensitive Components before and after masking/unmasking process for interdepartmental transfers.Prepares Aluminum and Composite Substrates for Sealant, Primer, and Paint ApplicationWill Learn to Identify and Respect Aircraft Sensitive Zones, apply pore-filler, and apply primer/surfacer to aircraft tail and parts.Will learn DFJ Standards for Treatment of Aluminum and Composites, quality standards for inspection, sealant, masking, and sanding, as well as how to correct identified discrepancies.Will learns how to Setup Work Area and move aircraft.Locate, Reference, and Utilize Work Orders and Reference Data Using Computer System to Ensure Compliance with Processes, and Accurately Document/Record Traceability Requirements and Process DataNon-Principal Duties/Responsibilities (Non-Essential Functions):Other Duties as AssignedMinimum Required Qualifications:High School Diploma or EquivalentAbility and Competency To:Read, Speak, Write, Understand, and Communicate Effectively in EnglishFollow Written and Verbal InstructionsPerform Repetitive Movements and Work OverheadWork on Upper Aircraft at Heights Greater Than 10 FeetUse Mechanical Sanders, Buffers, Spray Equipment, Common Hand Tools, etc.Pass Pulmonary Function Test; Obtain and Maintain Respirator Clearance Facial Hair RestrictionAbility and Commitment to:Wear All PPE as RequiredPrioritize Safety of Self, Others, and AircraftAttention to DetailCapability to Learn to How to Use Mechanical Sanders, Buffers, Spray Equipment, Common Hand Tools, etc.Ability to work with and around various adhesives, paints, resins, and other preparatory paint materials.Ability to obtain and maintain Aluminum Pretreatment Certification by end of first six monthsAdditional Desired Qualifications:Previous Paint Experience Preferred; Aerospace Paint Experience is OptimalScissor/Boom Lift CertificationFamiliarity with LEAN Manufacturing and Quality Assurance PrinciplesWorking Conditions:Climate-Controlled Hangars, with Occasional Work OutsideInvolves Exposure to Chemical and Dust Levels Set by OSHA StandardsLift/Hold/Carry/Push/Pull 50 Pounds With/Without Reasonable Accommodation for Intermittent PeriodsLift/Hold/Carry/Push/Pull 25 Pounds With/Without Reasonable Accommodation for Extended PeriodsPhysical/Muscular Dexterity To:Walk/Climb/Stand/Kneel/Crouch/Work overhead for Extended Periods While Working on AircraftRepeatedly Ascend/Descend Scaffolds, Ladders, Steps, Stands, and Other Related Equipment With/Without Reasonable AccommodationComplies with OSHA and Company Safety Standards and procedures.Compensation and BenefitsThe compensation for this position typically falls between $21.00 and $23.00 per hour. This position is eligible for overtime. This position may be eligible for shift differential.
