Hybrid on site in Riverside, CA. up to 78/hour on W2 (no C2C OR 1099 OR Sponsorship)\n\nMust have both Oracle and Linux experience especially within a cluster environment!\n\nPosition Summary\n\nUnder general direction, the Oracle/Linux DBA is responsible for performing a variety of complex professional, technical, and analytical duties in the areas of database administration, system support, testing, troubleshooting, installation, implementation, documentation, and maintenance of assigned systems, databases, programs, and applications. This position may serve as a specialized project lead or provide guidance and oversight to technical staff while supporting critical enterprise technology systems and infrastructure. The Oracle/Linux DBA performs other duties as assigned.\n\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\n\nTypical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:\n\nPerform highly complex system analysis and consultation in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of information systems, networks, servers, databases, and supporting hardware and software applications.\nProvide technical leadership and guidance to Innovation & Technology staff and project team members.\nProvide advanced technical assistance and support to system users in accordance with established information technology policies, procedures, methods, and standards.\nEvaluate, plan, implement, integrate, and support new systems and upgrades to existing systems.\nReview complex technical reports, analyses, and documentation.\nLead or participate in specialized technology and infrastructure projects.\nConduct research, gather pricing information, evaluate vendor solutions, and provide recommendations for hardware and software acquisitions consistent with organizational standards.\nDevelop and maintain system documentation, procedural manuals, technical specifications, and architectural designs.\nCoordinate and provide training for users on assigned systems, applications, and technology initiatives.\nCollaborate with management to identify and recommend enhancements that improve services, processes, policies, and procedures.\nUtilize strong written and verbal communication skills when interacting with technical staff, management, vendors, and end users with varying levels of technical expertise.\nEstablish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors and technical support resources.\nParticipate in on-call support rotations and provide after-hours support as assigned.\nProvide scheduled after-hours support for migrations, installations, troubleshooting activities, maintenance, and system upgrades.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nMinimum Qualifications\nOption I\n\nEducation:\nBachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.\n\nExperience:\nFive (5) years of full-time professional experience in computer science, information systems, voice/data communications, data center operations, database administration, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years in a project management, lead, or supervisory capacity.\n\nOption II\n\nEducation:\nAssociate's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a closely related field.\n\nExperience:\nSeven (7) years of full-time professional experience in computer science, information systems, voice/data communications, data center operations, database administration, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years in a project management, lead, or supervisory capacity.\n\nOption III\n\nEducation:\nHigh School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.\n\nExperience:\nNine (9) years of full-time professional experience in computer science, information systems, voice/data communications, data center operations, database administration, or a closely related field, including at least two (2) years in a project management, lead, or supervisory capacity.\n\nRequired Technical Experience\nStrong hands-on experience administering and supporting Oracle databases and Linux environments.\nExperience working in clustered, high-availability environments with redundancy and failover capabilities.\nKnowledge of and experience supporting Oracle Database, VMware, enterprise server infrastructure, and database clustering technologies.\nProven ability to administer, maintain, troubleshoot, and support complex Oracle-based enterprise environments.\nExperience supporting large-scale enterprise systems where Oracle serves as a critical business platform.\nExperience supporting complex business applications and systems such as billing, permitting, ERP, financial, construction, healthcare, or other large transactional environments.\nExperience working within enterprise application and data center environments that require close coordination across multiple technology teams.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience working in a public sector or municipal government environment is preferred but not required.\nDesired Soft Skills\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong collaboration and teamwork abilities.\nDemonstrated ability to work cooperatively with cross-functional technical teams.\nExperience partnering closely with application development teams, infrastructure teams, database administrators, and data center operations personnel.\nAbility to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nStrong
