Our team delivers sophisticated tax planning, compliance, and advisory services across equity compensation, real estate transactions, and entity structuring, with a personalized approach to each client relationship.Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Tax Manager based in San Francisco, CA. The Tax Manager will lead tax engagements for high-net-worth individuals and partnership/pass-through clients, with particular depth in real estate taxation and equity compensation planning. Core responsibilities include reviewing complex returns (Schedules K-1, 1065, 1040, §199A, §1231/1250, installment sales, and depreciation schedules), advising clients on equity compensation (ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, QSBS, and 83(b) elections), structuring real estate transactions including 1031 exchanges, cost segregation, and passive activity analysis, mentoring junior staff, and maintaining strong client relationships. Trust and estate experience is a plus but not required.Qualifications· CPA license required· Minimum 7 years of tax experience in public accounting, with demonstrated focus on high-net-worth individual and partnership taxation· Deep knowledge of pass-through taxation, including partnership allocations, basis tracking, and K-1 review· Meaningful experience in real estate taxation, including 1031 exchanges, cost segregation studies, passive activity rules, and real estate professional status analysis· Hands-on experience with equity compensation planning — ISOs, NSOs, RSUs, QSBS, 83(b) elections, and carried interest· Experience advising clients through liquidity events, founder exits, and entity structuring· Strong client-facing skills with the ability to communicate complex tax issues clearly to sophisticated clients· Proven ability to lead engagements, manage deadlines, and mentor staff in a dynamic environment· Experience with CCH Axcess preferred; SurePrep familiarity a plus· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; Excel modeling skills a plus· Trust and estate taxation experience is a bonus, not a requirement· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance requiredCompensation & Benefits $130,000–$165,000 base salary, commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus. Benefits include health/dental/vision, 401(k), paid CPE and licensing fees, and flexible hybrid schedule (3 days in office required). Partnership track available for high performers.
