{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"beb7976a269dfa310bd7f133","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/beb7976a269dfa310bd7f133","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/beb7976a269dfa310bd7f133","title":"Mechanical Engineer","description":"Job Description – Mechanical Engineer (Covington, LA – Office)\nGeneral Position Summary:\nDesign vessel piping and machinery systems\nProvide Calculation reports for marine systems\nDevelop 2D/3D AutoCAD detail drawings.\nPrimary Responsibilities:\nPrepare or revise engineering drawings in accordance with the marked-up prints, sketches, or verbal instructions provided by senior staff.\nSupervise the creation of multiple view drawings with appropriate details and section views, dimensions, and tolerances per department drafting standards.\nTrack and manage incorporation of drawing technical and administrative comments from multiple sources.\nPerform surveys, ship checks, and analyze as-built drawings, redline mark ups and other correspondence to develop or revise drawings marine systems.\nTrack detailed comments and their resolution across multiple vessel classes to ensure all end products are consistent and in accordance with governing documents and specifications.\nWriting of Equipment Specifications, Datasheets, Material Requisitions, and Technical Bid Evaluations\nDesired Characteristics:\nKnowledge of engineering practices, mathematics and other physical sciences to complete drawings.\nExperience with Excel and Microsoft Office, SolidWorks, AutoCAD.\nApplicant must be able to take detailed verbal direction and deliver accurate drawings.\nStrong attention to quality, organization skills, computing, and presentation skills.\nStrong work ethic and dedication.\nMust work well in a team dynamic.\nPossess excellent oral and written communication skills.\nJob Requirements\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited school.\n3 plus years as a Marine Engineer is required.\nProfessional Engineers License not required but is preferred.\nExperience working on both commercial and government projects is a plus.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\nUnderstanding of ABS, USCG, & SOLAS rules.\nAbility to develop, comprehend, and evaluate contract specifications.\nMust be a U.S. Citizen.\nThis job description is to be used as a guide for accomplishing company and department objectives and is not intended and should not be construed to be an all-inclusive list of responsibilities, skills, efforts or working conditions associated with a job.
