{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"beb4c01edc255efe7aec2aa4","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/beb4c01edc255efe7aec2aa4","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/beb4c01edc255efe7aec2aa4","title":"Senior Data Platform Engineer - Snowflake & KDB+","description":"On-Site roleJob Description:\r\n2 Rounds of Interviews ( 1 Zoom, 1 On site)\r\nMoving KDB data to Snowflake.\r\nData Management, Model, Access Controls, Review how we are moving the data into snowflake.\r\nLiase with the business on how to do this.\r\nGDM-Tech (Global Data Mart) is part of TEDRA (Trade Enrichment Data Reporting & Allocations) within Institutional Securities Technology (IST) Division.\r\nWe are responsible for sourcing, maintaining, distributing, and reporting on the Firm's inventory, position, and reference data.\r\nSupporting the Delta1 Structured Products business, our data sets underpin critical workflows across inventory management, prime brokerage, and firm-wide position reporting.\r\nAs an authoritative source of key data sets, GDM-Tech sits at the forefront of database technology and is heavily involved in data engineering, data distribution, and analytics efforts.\r\nWe are looking for an experienced general database developer to contribute to the support and development of a multi-terabyte inventory and position data platform serving the Delta1 Structured Products team globally.\r\nThe successful candidate will play a key part in building out a new Snowflake-based data platform, while also supporting and maintaining our existing KDB+ technology stack.\r\nA central objective of the role is to help migrate our current KDB+ dependencies onto Snowflake a greenfield effort that offers significant scope for design and architectural input.\r\nOur team takes a best tool for the job approach, and the ideal candidate will bring strong interest and experience in cloud platforms and RDBMS technologies, including enterprise-scale, highly accessed transactional and time-series data systems.\r\nThe tasks will include performance optimization, testing, database engineering, platform migration, version upgrades, and development and distribution on cloud platforms.\r\nThe person joining the team must be able to operate in a fast-paced Agile environment where time to market is a key requirement without compromising on the quality and resiliency of the platform.\r\nRequired skills Knowledge (intermediate level) of development and performance optimization on major RDBMS technologies Scripting knowledge (Python)Knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems/ Version control.\r\nExcellent communication skills Desired skills Data modelling concepts Knowledge of ETL products.\r\nExperience with Snowflake or other cloud data platforms.\r\nExposure to KDB+/q (or a strong willingness to learn)Understanding of financial data domains inventory, securities lending/borrow, prime brokerage, or position dataAgile practicesOther personal skills: integrity & ownership, good team player, high degree of motivation to expand technical and business knowledge.\r\nEducation:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.About us:\r\nAt our organization, we take our mission and values to heart!
