It may also be a good fit for someone looking for flexible part-time work or a side job.\nLocations\nApplicants must be willing and able to work at either of our Orange County locations:\nIrvine, California\nLake Forest, California\nResponsibilities\nHelp students complete robotics, programming, electronics, and engineering projects\nTeach and support students with different ages and experience levels\nAssist with LEGO robotics, Arduino, Raspberry Pi, Python, Unity, and other STEM platforms\nHelp prepare FLL and FTC teams for robotics competitions\nSupport students with robot design, building, programming, testing, and troubleshooting\nEncourage teamwork, creativity, problem-solving, and good sportsmanship\nMaintain a safe, organized, and positive learning environment\nCommunicate clearly with students, parents, and other mentors\nAttend practices, scrimmages, tournaments, and competitions when scheduled\nQualifications\nSome prior programming, robotics, engineering, or technical experience\nComfortable learning new software, hardware, and teaching methods\nPatient and able to explain technical concepts to children and teenagers\nDependable, responsible, and professional\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills\nWilling to complete on-the-job training\nAble to work at both the Irvine and Lake Forest locations\nAvailable for some weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends\nInterested in participating in FLL and FTC practices and competition events\nPrevious teaching, tutoring, coaching, or mentoring experience is helpful but not required. Most program-specific training will be provided on the job.\nPreferred Experience\nExperience with any of the following is helpful but not required:\nFIRST LEGO League or FIRST Tech Challenge\nLEGO robotics\nPython, Java, C#, or block-based programming\nArduino or Raspberry Pi\nElectronics and soldering\nCAD, 3D printing, or mechanical design\nUnity, Roblox, Minecraft, or game development\nWorking with elementary, middle school, or high school students\nSchedule\nThis is a flexible part-time position averaging approximately 10 hours per week. Typical hours include weekday afternoons, evenings, and weekends.\nThe schedule may vary based on class enrollment, employee availability, camps, and robotics competition schedules.
