Specifically, leading project planning, staffing, technical design oversight, fabrication, integration, at-sea testing, and support for undersea sensing and communications systems, with an emphasis on high-frequency SONAR technology research and development efforts.\r\nResponsibilities\r\nCoordinate with engineering teams to develop, document, and execute system designs that are on schedule, within budget, and are validated and verified against sponsor requirements.\r\nCoordinate with engineering teams and supervisory chain to maintain and track progress against critical development and testing events.\r\nHandle administrative project management and business functions as required by project needs.\r\nAssist in the identification, planning, and acquisition of new projects and funding from DoD sponsors.\r\nDocumentation and presentation of technical materials to internal and external stakeholders.\r\nIdentify personnel resource needs; identify candidates, interview, and hire full-time engineering staff members.\r\nOther related functions as assigned.\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nBachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, mechanical engineering, software engineering, engineering management, or similar technical field.\r\nFive years of project management experience.\r\nDemonstrated experience developing and leading technical projects.\r\nThree years of demonstrated experience in managing engineering teams.\r\nExperience planning, developing and executing technical project plans across a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists and technical staff.\r\nDemonstrated ability to document, maintain and present technical information to internal and external stakeholders.\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nMaster's degree in related field.\r\nAt least five years of demonstrated experience in technical project management.\r\nExperience with high-frequency SONAR or other underwater sensor systems.\r\nPrior military or defense system development experience.\r\nExperience with Department of Defense acquisition processes.\r\nExperience working with classified information systems.\r\nSecurity and Eligibility\r\nThis position requires a U.S. citizen. The applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information at the level appropriate to the project requirements.
