The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tractor-trailer repair and maintenance, with experience in uptime management. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet, which includes a variety of vehicles and machinery. The Fleet Technician will work in a fast-paced environment, performing repairs and maintenance on Volvo, Mack, Freightliner & Paccar products.\nResponsibilities\nPerform routine maintenance and repairs on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment, including diesel engines, transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, and HVAC systems.\nConduct diagnostics to identify issues and implement effective solutions.\nUtilize schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems and mechanical components.\nExecute fabrication tasks as needed for repairs or modifications.\nMaintain accurate records of repairs, services performed, and parts used.\nProvide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with team members and drivers regarding vehicle status and repair needs.\nEnsure compliance with safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.\nAssist in the assembly and disassembly of equipment as required.\nSkills\nStrong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in fleet repair and maintenance.\nProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and welding techniques.\nFamiliarity with vehicle systems including suspension, shocks & struts, brake repair, alignment, tire service, and diesel engine repair.\nExperience working with industrial equipment such as tractor-trailers is required\nAbility to perform heavy lifting as required for equipment repair tasks.\nExperience in service technician roles or similar positions is advantageous.\nExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to read schematics effectively.\nStrong attention to detail coupled with a commitment to quality workmanship.
