Field Technician
SUMMARY: This 12 month, full-time, non-exempt position works with the Director of Technology to organize, install, maintain, and provide training on the district's technical equipment and gives assistive support to the Technology Dept.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Provides technical support to all schools and support facilities, including but not limited to troubleshooting: phones (analog and digital); cameras; door access; recording software; battery backups; district servers, switches, and relays; HVAC software; intercoms, bells, and clocks.
Assists with the handling of the one-to-one Chromebook program.
Manages staff computers and is responsible for all tablets throughout the district.
Sets up or relocates technology equipment in the district as necessary.
Works with students, faculty, and staff to address computer problems/questions and provides one-on-one computer literacy training as needed.
Maintains building hardware, software, and supply inventories, removing equipment from inventory and disposing of unused equipment properly.
Develops user friendly training/user/software manuals as needed for students, faculty and staff.
Assists with the installation and testing of hardware and software for IT equipment and the termination, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the district data cabling infrastructure.
Assists with the successful and timely completion of each helpdesk ticket submitted.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in IS/CS/MIS/CIS/CSEng/or other IT related field
20+ hours in data processing or equivalent work experience
LAN/WAN technical support/maintenance experience
Two years of network technical support and project management experience, preferred
A+, Network+, Security+, CCNA, or MCSE certification preferred
