We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years have expanded throughout the Midwest.Job SummaryThe Junior System Administrator will manage and support servers, networks, and user systems while ensuring security and reliability. This role troubleshoots technical issues, implements upgrades, and collaborates with teams to keep IT operations running efficiently.Hours and Wage Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM $26-$30 per hour, based on experienceDuties And ResponsibilitiesProvide technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, and related hardware Troubleshoot hardware, software, email, login, and connectivity issues Assist with installation, configuration, and maintenance of Windows operating systems and business applications Create, modify, and disable user accounts, permissions, and access rights in Active Directory and other systems Support onboarding and offboarding processes including equipment setup and recovery Monitor system performance and report issues or outages to senior IT staff Assist with maintenance of servers, network equipment, backups, antivirus, and security updates Document IT procedures, troubleshooting steps, inventory, and support tickets Help maintain company phone systems, wireless devices, and communication tools Coordinate with vendors and service providers for support and repairs as needed Follow company cybersecurity policies and assist with security best practices Maintain confidentiality of company and employee information Perform other duties as assignedSkills And AbilitiesProficiency with Windows and/or Linux server administration, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and user managementExperience with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, and routing)Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, or similar)Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWSStrong understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutionsHands-on experience with patch management and endpoint security toolsAbility to script or automate tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or PythonExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindsetStrong documentation skills and attention to detail for compliance and process improvementAbility to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environmentStrong interpersonal and communication skills to support end users and collaborate across teamsEducation And ExperienceBachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience will be considered1-3 years of experience in system administration, network administration, or a related IT role requiredExperience managing Windows and/or Linux server environmentsPhysical RequirementsAbility to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periodsAbility to lift, carry, or move IT equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. as needed for installation or maintenanceBenefitsHealth Insurance, Dental Insurance, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off (PTO), Employee Assistance Program, 401(k) Plan, Quarterly Bonuses, and moreEEO and Affirmative Action Statement Spee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
