Senior Budget Analyst (DoD experience)

Position Summary: Position Description: Budget Analyst Level IV Location: National Capital Region Work Posture: On-Site (ad-hoc Telework w/Gov't POC approval) Travel: Yes, Some travel required Deployment: No Drug screening: Yes Security Clearance: Active TS/SCI Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Required Experience Active TS/SCI Minimum of 15 years of budget management experience. Minimum of 5 years of experience with the Planning, Program, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) phases of the DoD budget. Minimum of 5 years of experience with budget formulation, enactment, and execution. Minimum of 5 years of experience with monitoring organizational spending, managing required reports, and informing senior leaders on the status and availability of funds. Minimum of 5 years of experience with the Congressional budget process, Budget Justification documentation development, and Operation & Maintenance and Research, Development, Test & Evaluation appropriations. Preferred Experience Master’s degree. Salary: Commensurate with experience. Responsibilities: SANCORP is seeking a Budget Analyst Level IV to provide budget analyst support to the Sensitive Activities & Special Programs (SASP) Office within the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense, Intelligence and Security (OUSD(I&S)). The following are examples of responsibilities: Prepare cost estimates for SASP initiatives and efforts, budget exhibits, spend plans, travel forecasts, burn-sheets, budget reports, and budget execution documentation. Work with OUSD(I&S) Financial Management and Accounting (FMA) office to execute the SASP budget – this includes regular communication with FMA to determine the amount of funds available, the amount of funds committed, the amount of funds executed, and the amount of funds un-executed. Enable the funding of SASP’s un-forecasted requirements by preparing and submitting all required documentation to FMA. Develop strategic financial plans, prepare cost estimates for SASP initiatives and efforts, and correlate financial requirements into executable budgets. Assess staff packages, memorandums, and other written correspondence for compliance with accounting principles and applicable internal controls.
