{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"be0746db9567fdebcb509317","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/be0746db9567fdebcb509317","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/be0746db9567fdebcb509317","title":"Document Processing Clerk","description":"Description:\nThe Document Processing (Clerk II) securely stores documents and retrieves archived materials upon request.\nRequirements:\nExamines and provides quality control (QC) of the imaged documents received and screens images using review criteria.\nPerforms quality control functions on imaged documents.\nAssures that documents entered and uploaded into the imaging system contain the proper patient-identifying bar-coded cover sheet or that the case number is entered to distinguish individual patient records.\nAssists with opening and sorting incoming mail for distribution and dispatches outgoing mail.\nLogs receipt of all mail in tracking systems.\nSorts mail according to destination and type, such as medical records and mail for administrative staff.\nCalls providers to obtain missing passwords for compact discs (CDs).\nAssists with scanning and disposition of all documents received on paper, CD, fax, or by electronic means.\nAssists with logging postage amount from providers’ envelopes for provider reimbursement.\nWorks in the government system to attach documents to cases and notify appropriate parties.\nExamines outgoing mail and seals envelopes by hand or machine.\nStamps outgoing mail by postage machine or by hand and monitors postage usage.\nAssists with the documentation, storage, retention, and destruction of paper documents received from providers.\nParticipates in the continuous improvement process to identify quality issues and recommends solutions.\nProtects the confidentiality of patient information through compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health Act (HITECH).\nAttends annual security awareness, rules of conduct, and conflict of interest training.\nPerforms other duties as assigned.\nEssential Knowledge:\nKnowledge of specific components of a medical record needed from providers for medical claims review is preferred.
