This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly motivated and interested in taking on challenges in a fast-paced environment.\nThe Rad Tech operates x-ray equipment in support of the provision of diagnostic and/or therapeutic services to a specified patient population.\nJOB DESCRIPTION\nArrange patients for radiological exams\nPerforms diagnostic radiological exams for use in diagnosis of disease\nPrevent patients from unnecessary radiation exposure\nPerform portable X-ray exams\nDevelops exposed X-ray files\nPerform administrative duties as needed for patient instructions, film-filing, and maintenance of records\nJOB REQUIREMENTS\nHigh School graduate or equivalent\nGraduate of approved Radiologic Technical program\nBXMO license for X-ray technicians\nAmerican Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)\nLicensed/registered with the appropriate state agency\nCurrent Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nFollowing principles of medical ethics for medical assistant\nPreparing patients for radiological procedures and take X-rays following established procedures for patient care and safety\nAssisting patients any time need is apparent or as directed by supervisory staff\nPerforming medical assistant and radiological procedures\nAssisting the providers with patients, including preparing patients and the examination rooms; taking initial medical history for the chart, taking vital signs, and explaining the process to the patients\nAssisting provider in all special procedures, including minor surgery, as required\nPerforming x-rays as directed by the provider\nGiving instructions to patients as instructed by provider\nAssisting with any procedures that have been taught through formal training or by physician\nKeeping medical records in accordance to procedures and forms\nFollowing HIPAA guidelines for patient confidentiality\nKeeping rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, washes and dries instruments used, and prepares sterilization as required\nCleaning wounds, drawing labs, electrocardiograms and applying dressings and splints as directed by provider\nAssisting in lab procedures under the supervision of provider and for which training has been given. Other duties may consist of notifying patients of lab results, giving vaccines, immunizations and medications prescribed by the doctor; lab work consisting of throat cultures, hematocrits, and urinalysis.\nReceiving and handling phone calls\nResponsible for proper handling and storage of all medications stored in the office\nKnowledge of the physical and operational characteristics of radiologic equipment\nKnowledge of x-ray principles, procedures and standards\nKnowledge of sterile procedures\nKnowledge of appropriate x-ray exposure times and safety parameters\nKnowledge of photographic development techniques\nMust demonstrate the knowledge of the principle of growth and development of the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the Center’s policies and procedures\nAbility to read and communicate effectively in English, additional languages preferred\nMust be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of patients served in the Center\nAbility to calibrate, configure, and adjust x-ray equipment and associated facilities and devices in accordance with procedures and standards\nAbility to understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures\nAbility to safely lift, and physically manipulate patients\nAbility to make administrative/procedural decisions and judgments\nDemonstrates the ability to maintain good interpersonal relationships with patients, coworkers, and other health team members\nHOURS AND WORKING CONDITIONS\nOur ASCs are located in Florida, Texas and California. All ASCs are open Monday through Friday with certain facilities open Saturdays.
