So, if you’re looking to do big work in a small-team environment, Midrex is just the place for you.QualificationsPOSITION SUMMARY: The Process Analysis Programmer develops software, writes code to maintain / improve / extend the capability of existing proprietary calculation tools (programs) and supports software integration within Technology Development.SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: NoneDUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Work in accordance with the Midrex Code of Ethics and ISO requirements. Understand, maintain, and improve the existing suite of proprietary calculation tools. Develop in depth knowledge of Midrex in-house software. Provide training and support for end users of the Midrex Toolkit, and other Process Analysis Group managed software solutions. Develop programs and write code in Qt, C++ or MS EXCEL for process modeling and data analysis. An engineer will specify the required calculations and program function. The programmer is responsible for the software design and implementation. Write and document programs. Work as a team player with all Technical Center employees / contract workers. Work toward building consensus on all assignments by finding solutions, which meet the best interests of all parties involved. Support specification, purchase, and integration/migration of software within Technology Development.SKILLS/ABILITIES:Required: Strong understanding of iterative solution techniques and software version control methods/software. Basic understanding of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and reaction kinetics Proficient in C++ in the Visual Studio development environment Ability to define program architecture and develop functional requirements that effectively meet user needs, based on detailed program function and feature requests Ability to generate and maintain documentation and manuals for the programsPreferred: Proficient in Qt (or similar GUI development tool) Proficient in advanced data structures and database systems such as SQL, with a focus on relational data models In-depth knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles Proficient in Power Apps Experience with User Defined Functions for Computational Fluid DynamicsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: A four-year college degree or associate degree in engineering or computer science Experience programming in computer / computational modeling of reactive processes and validation of the calculationsTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: 5% to 15% International and Domestic to conferences, meetings, and industrial plant sitesPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be physically able to move around inside and outside of the facility including climbing stairs Able to reach above shoulders and to lift 20 lb.OTHER DUTIES:Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
