Grow with us.\n\nPosition: First (1st) Shift Yard Hostler (Non DOT)\nShift: 5:00AM – 5:00PM, (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday)\nPay: $21.50 per hour\nAdditional Incentives: All full-time employees are eligible to qualify for monthly performance and safety incentive bonuses!\n\nIn addition to the general job description below, be responsible for supporting the supervisor’s mission of shipping and receiving loads using the least number of man-hours. This person will operate an Ottawa yard tractor to move trailers to/from dock doors and to/from yard slots as specified by the Operations Supervisor or Lead in support of the operation. The hostler is responsible for completing these moves, requested through the Yard view tablet or by other means, accurately and promptly in YMS. The hostler is also responsible for accomplishing daily yard checks, as mandated by Goodyear, as well as aiding in the security of the facility. In periods of downtime or less activity, the hostler may be tasked to operate a forklift to process Warranty Returns, move empty pallets, or pull, stock, or move tires. Hostlers are also responsible for yard cleanliness and may be tasked to help with routine maintenance duties (ex.-changing dock lights, watering batteries, etc.) This individual will need to perform other duties as assigned by management and supervision.\nPosition Requirements:\nGood interpersonal skills – communicates with FH service, Traffic, Ops Sup, Ops Lead, Security Guard, maintenance, etc.\nComplete understanding of YMS Yard view (will be trained)\nMust be able to operate Ottawa yard tractor.\nAbility to Multitask\nMust be willing to operate Material Handling Equipment in Operations\nMust be willing to work overtime as needed.\nPull, Stock, Move, etc. tires in RF (meeting Red Prairie standard)\nMust be comfortable with changing initiatives.\n\nBe part of the world’s largest logistics company! Makes decisions in sequencing schedule to maintain efficient loading and unloading operations. Loads and unloads trailers and verifies product count. Maintains a clean and safe docking area and reports any maintenance or safety issues to supervision. Refuels vehicles on site and documents locations and condition of equipment.\n\nKey Accountabilities:\n\nMaintain safe and efficient dock operation by switching trailers and equipment to and from docks.\nMaintains equipment fuel levels and refuels equipment during appropriate times.\nLoads and unloads trucks, verifying the count and condition of product. Reports overages, shortages, and damages.\nPerforms daily yard checks.\nProperly secures loads, ensuring loads are within local, state and federal guidelines.\nPrepares and maintains accurate records and/or logs as required policies and procedures.\nInspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water.
