This role will primarily be responsible for supporting engineering design, integration, test, certification, and hardware/software management for assigned mission systems avionics sub-systems.\n\nThe Company KC-46 Pegasus is the USAF’s new aerial refueling tanker aircraft designed to support multi-role missions including refueling, cargo/passenger transport, and medevac airlift. The KC-46 is a military commercial derivative aircraft based on the Company 767-2C aircraft and modified per USAF specifications for the primary mission of aerial refueling US and Allied aircraft using either the Hose & Drogue systems or the Boom. The KC-46 is also equipped with a suite of self-defensive and tactical situational awareness systems that allows the aircraft to get closer to the fight when supporting combat missions.\n\nPosition Responsibilities\n\nSupport the engineering design, development, analysis, testing, and certification of the mission avionics systems to ensure seamless integration with software and higher-level systems and platforms.\n\nSupport the design, development, validation, and verification of system level requirements.\n\nAssist in the development of test plans and procedures in support of certification activities.\n\nCoordinate system-level integration for mission avionics hardware and software.\n\nSupport the definition and execution of critical tests of various types to validate the performance of designs against system requirements.\n\nProvide technical management of relevant aspects of critical suppliers and Company software team members to ensure compliance with design requirements; support for products will encompass the entire lifecycle including proposal, development, production, and in-service support as well as flight and laboratory testing.\n\nGather information to support proposal development and conduct trade studies for future upgrades and new business opportunities.\n\nCoordinate and ensure FAA, military certification, and Company airworthiness activities for the mission avionics systems and its components.\n\nCoordinate and consult with specialty engineering Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) such as safety, electromagnetic emissions, and cybersecurity.\n\nProvide troubleshooting support for production labs and aircraft when technical issues occur.\n\nConduct technical issue investigations and Root Cause and Corrective Actions (RCCAs).\n\nThis position is expected to be 100% onsite.\n\n12+ months — possible extension and possible FTE opportunity.\n\nRequirements\nWhat you’ll need\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\n\nBachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry. (Electrical engineering preferred)\n\n3+ years of experience in engineering.\n\nExperience with communication systems, FAA or military.\n\nTroubleshooting and integrations.\n\nRF experience (radio, comm systems, mil GPS, mil chat, link 16).\n\nNetworking.\n\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\n\nExperience with Software Development Processes.\n\nExperience with Radio Frequency (RF) engineering principles.\n\nExperience with defensive systems.\n\nExperience with data networks.\n\nExperience with communication systems.\n\nExperience with navigation systems.\n\nExperience with flight management systems.\n\nExperience with mission control systems.\n\nExperience working with FAA and/or Military type certification requirements.\n\nExperience troubleshooting avionic equipment, general electronics, and/or aircraft systems.\n\nExperience with Equipment Manager (EM) Responsibilities for Avionics Line Replaceable Units (LRUs).\n\nExperience in hardware and software integration.\n\nExperience in data analysis and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).\n\nExperience in Technical Subcontract Management working with suppliers.\n\nExperience developing requirements and performing requirements decomposition.\n\nExperience evaluating aircraft maintenance requirements, certifications or airworthiness directives.\n\nBachelor's and 9 or more years' experience, Master's with 7 or more years' experience or PhD with 4 or more years' experience.
