Sr. Commercial Services Counsel

Currently, we have a Sr. Commercial Services Counsel role for a premier national title company that Empowers you to Build your future.The Sr. Commercial Services Counsel is responsible for assisting in transactional closings of transactions involving commercial properties or multi-unit residential sites located in a specific geographic region.Your specific duties will include:Underwriting commercial and residential title closings, including review and approval of high-liability orders within authorized limits and coordination with other Senior Underwriting Counsel for matters exceeding authority thresholds.Providing legal guidance to title and escrow officers on complex or extraordinary closing issues, claim matters, litigation-related concerns, and high-risk transactions.Advising and meeting with outside attorneys, real estate professionals, buyers, and sellers regarding escrow and title closing matters.Communicating with customers regarding the Company's products and services while maintaining strict confidentiality.Interacting with the Department of Insurance on regulatory and compliance matters.Participating in marketing initiatives and delivering presentations to both large and small groups as requested by management.Staying current on changes in laws and procedures and distributing relevant updates to staff. Required qualifications for the position include: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.Active membership in the Bar Association and licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.Completion of all continuing legal education (CLE) requirements.Extensive underwriting experience and strong underwriting background.Extensive commercial transactional experience.Experience handling claims matters.Litigation experience.In-depth knowledge of Florida real estate law.Strong knowledge of Florida title insurance laws and regulations. Salary Range: $160-175K per hourCompensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
