Director of Aquatics
As the Director of Aquatics, you'll lead the daily operations of our Aquatics Department, including overseeing JAM Swim School, managing staff, and developing exciting new programs for our community. Reporting to the Chief Wellness Officer, this position is responsible for developing and shaping policies, ensuring safety compliance, and advancing water safety education. This role offers a flexible schedule, with the opportunity to work both on-site and remotely in a hybrid working environment. In addition to overseeing daily activities, you'll be responsible for marketing aquatics programs and expanding their reach within the community. Pay Range
Starting at $18.00 - $20.00 hourly

Experience Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years old
Responsibilities
- Manage all daily operations in the JAM Aquatics facility
- Follow procedures for pool maintenance and report any problems
- Oversee, organize, and direct all aquatics programs
- Enforce compliance with all safety regulations among staff and patrons; work to eliminate potential hazards
- Create, update, maintain, and enforce all policies, procedures, and protocols within the aquatics department
- With the support of a team of instructors, work as the curriculum director for JAM Swim School
- Schedule lessons, programs, and events in the aquatics facility
- Train and supervise aquatics staff, including lifeguards, instructors, and maintenance staff
- Develop and implement new aquatics programs
- Successfully market JAM Swim School within the community
- Plan and teach swim classes and water fitness classes as needed
- Ensure proper scheduling and staffing of the pool; provide coverage when needed
- Collaborate and develop partnerships within the community to promote aquatics programs and the JAM Center mission
- Expand the depth and breadth of all programs in the aquatics department
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Bachelor’s Degree in Aquatics, Recreation, Health & Exercise Science, or related field preferred; equivalent work experience accepted
- Leadership experience preferred
- Aquatics experience preferred
- Lifeguard and Lifeguard Instructor Certification preferred
