Extended Stay Sales Manager
Extended Stay Sales Manager | Hyatt House & The Mindaro, a JdV by Hyatt
Location: Portland, OR (Airport/Cascade Station Area) Property Status: Dual-Brand Renovation | 8,200 sq. ft. Meeting Space & Restaurant Open Upcoming Milestone: Phase 1 Hyatt House Rooms opening June 2026
The Opportunity
We are looking for a high-energy, "hunter-style" Extended Stay Sales Manager to spearhead the relaunch of our property as it transforms into a premier dual-branded Hyatt destination. This is a unique "pre-opening" and ramp-up role: while our 8,200 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space and full-service restaurant are already operational and hosting events, you will be the driving force behind filling our brand-new Hyatt House rooms starting this June.
You will manage the full sales cycle for extended-stay accounts, focusing on project business, corporate relocations, and long-term stays, while leveraging the "lifestyle" appeal of the JdV brand to capture a diverse market share.
Key Responsibilities
Drive Room Revenue: Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet or exceed budgeted room night production and REVPAR Index growth.
Proactive Prospecting: Conduct aggressive direct solicitation through cold calls, site tours, and networking to secure new project business and corporate extended-stay accounts.
Phase 1 Launch Leadership: Lead the sales effort for the June opening of the Hyatt House wing, ensuring a strong base of long-term business is contracted before the doors open.
Market Strategy: Conduct competitive set analysis and market research to understand Portland’s shifting demand and position the property effectively against competitors.
Account Management: Maintain and "mine" existing accounts, ensuring high levels of guest satisfaction and repeat business through consistent follow-up and service recovery.
Operational Synergy: Collaborate closely with the Front Office and the Catering/Events team to ensure a seamless transition from "sold" to "serviced," particularly for groups utilizing both the meeting space and long-term accommodations.
Community Engagement: Represent the property at trade shows, the Chamber of Commerce, and local CVB events to elevate the brand presence of both Hyatt House and The Mindaro.
Reporting & Forecasting: Complete weekly/monthly sales reports, quarterly action plans, and revenue forecasts with accuracy and transparency.
What We Are Looking For
The Experience: Proven track record in Extended Stay sales or hospitality sales. Experience with hotel openings or major renovations/re-brandings is a significant advantage.
The "Hunter" Mentality: A self-starter who thrives on proactive outreach and has a demonstrated ability to close long-term contracts.
Technical Proficiency: Experience with Hyatt systems (Opera, Envision/Delphi) is strongly preferred. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
Portland Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the local Portland/Airport corporate landscape and project-based business drivers.
Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret REVPAR Index data and profit/loss concepts to make informed pricing and strategy recommendations.
Ramp-Up Flexibility: The ability to work independently in a fast-paced renovation environment and adapt to changing priorities as room phases come online.
Physical Requirements & Travel
Frequent standing, walking, and moving about the facility during site tours.
Ability to travel locally for sales calls and occasionally overnight for trade shows.
Valid Driver’s License required.
