This role is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing network infrastructure and control system connectivity to minimize downtime and ensure safe, efficient plant operations. The OT Specialist/Engineer acts as a technical resource for diagnosing complex issues, implementing preventive measures, and collaborating with engineering, operations, and IT teams to coordinate efforts across the Texas Operations site. The Operational Technology Specialist/Engineer provides troubleshooting and maintenance support of process control networks, plans and executes tasks associated with process control hardware and collaborates with multiple site units to improve the systems’ performance and safety.\nThe Freeport site is the single largest chlor alkali complex in the world with more than 1,000 employees. The chemical products produced at our Freeport location include chlorine and caustic soda, vinyls, epoxies, chlorinated organics, aromatics, bleach, hydrogen, and hydrochloric acid.\n\nOperational Technology Engineer Essential Responsibilities:\nPerform all required operational maintenance, administrative, and troubleshooting of server hardware and operating systems (Windows) in the OT environment.\nWorks with IT to maintain secure networks by implementing cybersecurity policies and managing antivirus software, and patch management while minimizing disruption to operations.\nUpdates procedures and completes necessary Management of Change documents for Site OT processes and systems.\nCollaborates with vendors, application developers, and corporate IT groups to resolve complex problems and evaluate/test software changes and updates.\nAssist with managing DCS Level 1 and Level 2 spare equipment across site.\n\nOperational Technology Engineer Requirements:\nBachelor’s degree* in Engineering; Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science discipline preferred.\n3+ years of relevant technical experience.\nBasic knowledge of programming or scripting languages.\nExperience with DeltaV programming, virtualized computer systems (DeltaV Virtual Studio), and commercial process control systems (DeltaV or Mod V) preferred.\nPrior Olin experience in a relevant position preferred.\nMust be able to obtain a TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) and possess a valid US Driver's license.\n\nStrong Careers Grow Here\nAs a global leader in both chemical manufacturing and ammunition, Olin empowers over 8,000 individuals to make an impact both at work and in our surrounding communities.
