Senior Director Human Resources
The Senior Director, Human Resources is a strategic, enterprise-level HR leader reporting in to the SVP of Huma Resources responsible for shaping and executing people strategies that drive organizational performance, culture, and long-term growth across Generac.This role partners closely with senior leadership to ensure alignment between talent strategies and business objectives while leading large-scale initiatives across the full employee lifecycle. The Senior Director will operate within a highly matrixed, global, multi-site corporate environment, requiring the ability to influence across regions, functions, and leadership levels.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Business PartnershipServe as a trusted advisor to executive leadership on all human capital mattersLead HR strategy across multiple functions, regions, and business unitsInfluence organizational effectiveness, engagement, retention, and long-term workforce strategyDrive alignment of people strategies with enterprise business priorities in a complex, matrixed environmentTalent Management & Leadership DevelopmentOversee enterprise talent strategy, including leadership development and succession planningBuild and scale leadership capability across global teamsStrengthen bench strength and organizational readiness for future growthOrganizational Design & Workforce PlanningLead organizational design initiatives aligned to business transformation and growthDrive workforce planning strategies using data and analytics across multiple sites and regionsSupport leaders in optimizing structure, roles, and capabilitiesEmployee & Labor RelationsEnsure compliance with HR policies, employment law, and risk mitigation practicesProvide expert guidance on complex employee relations issues and investigationsLead labor relations strategy, including union partnerships, contract administration, and negotiations (as applicable)Mergers, Acquisitions & TransformationLead HR integration efforts for M&A activities, including onboarding, culture alignment, and organizational integrationDrive change management initiatives tied to transformation efforts across the enterpriseCross-Functional CollaborationServe as the connective link between HR Business Partners, Centers of Excellence (COEs), and the businessEnsure alignment of HR programs, communication, and execution across geographies and functionsLead or contribute to enterprise-wide initiatives, governance forums, and strategic HR programsLeadershipLead, coach, and develop a high-performing HR team supporting regional or functional business groupsSet clear expectations and foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvementManage performance through coaching, feedback, and recognitionMinimum QualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related disciplineExperience12+ years of progressive HR experience5+ years in senior HR leadership rolesDemonstrated experience leading HR strategy in a highly matrixed, global, multi-site corporate environmentKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProven ability to influence and partner with executive leadershipStrong expertise in HR operations, talent management, and employee relationsDeep understanding of organizational design and workforce planningExperience applying analytics to enterprise workforce trendsStrong change management and transformation leadership capabilityAdvanced communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skillsPreferred QualificationsEducationMaster’s degree (HR, MBA, or related field)CertificationsSPHR or SHRM-SCPExperienceExperience in unionized environmentsM&A integration experienceExposure to manufacturing or operations environmentsAdditional CapabilitiesExperience implementing new HR technologies and driving adoptionDemonstrated ability to leverage AI-enabled HR tools (talent analytics, automation platforms) to improve workforce planning and efficiencyWhy Join GeneracAt Generac, every role contributes to something bigger.
