We value practical problem-solving, strong collaboration, and delivering high-quality work to our customers.\r\nPosition Overview\r\nWe are seeking a versatile Project & Operations Manager to serve as a key operational partner to our President. This is a broad, multi-faceted role for someone who thrives on variety, takes ownership, and is comfortable wearing several hats.\r\nOur team is roughly ten people, and we work closely with a network of external manufacturing and engineering partners. A significant part of this role is keeping projects aligned and moving across these groups, so strong communication and the ability to lead through influence, rather than direct authority, are essential.\r\nYou will lead project delivery, coordinate across our internal team and external partners, help develop customer proposals and pricing, and step in to keep operations running smoothly when needed. This role requires regular onsite presence in Chaska, MN.\r\nProject Management & Delivery\r\nPlan, coordinate, and drive engineering projects from kickoff through delivery, keeping scope, schedule, and priorities on track\r\nFacilitate Agile/Scrum events (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, reviews) and adapt process pragmatically to fit a small team\r\nManage projects, boards, sprints, and reporting in Jira, and help maintain documentation and traceability in Confluence\r\nIdentify and remove blockers, manage risks, and keep stakeholders informed with clear, proactive communication\r\nCross-Team Coordination\r\nCoordinate work across our internal team and external manufacturing and engineering partners, keeping everyone aligned on priorities, timelines, and deliverables\r\nServe as a central point of contact to ensure smooth handoffs and consistent communication between internal and partner groups\r\nProposals & Pricing\r\nHelp develop customer-facing proposals, coordinating input from our engineers and leadership, and turning technical estimates into clear, professional, margin-aware quotes\r\nApply sound business judgment to pricing — accounting for overhead, risk, margin, and competitive positioning\r\nSupport the President on pricing strategy and approval, exercising increasing independence as trust and familiarity grow\r\nOperational Support\r\nAct as an operational right hand to the President, stepping in on bounded, well-defined tasks when they are pulled in other directions\r\nHelp keep day-to-day operations organized and running smoothly across the company\r\nHelp maintain the structured, traceable workflows our quality-sensitive work depends on\r\nRequired Qualifications\r\nProven experience in project management and/or operations, ideally in an engineering or technical services environment\r\nAgile/Scrum experience (CSM, PSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent practical experience); pragmatic rather than dogmatic in applying process\r\nHands-on experience with Jira for managing projects, boards, sprints, and reporting\r\nExperience contributing to customer proposals and pricing, with genuine comfort around margin and business economics\r\nA versatile, self-directed generalist who is comfortable with ambiguity and wearing many hats\r\nExcellent communicator who can earn the trust of engineers and lead through influence rather than positional authority\r\nStrong organizational skills, sound judgment, and a reliable, ownership-driven mindset\r\nMust be located near Chaska, MN, and available for on-site work\r\nPreferred Qualifications\r\nFamiliarity with hardware, embedded systems, or regulated/quality-sensitive development\r\nExperience with Confluence or other documentation and traceability tools\r\nPMP or other project management certification\r\nExperience coordinating external partners, vendors, or contract manufacturers\r\nExperience working in small, fast-moving engineering teams\r\nCompensation\r\nSalary Range: $85,000 – $115,000 annually\r\nCompensation will be determined based on experience, demonstrated expertise, and the breadth of skills the candidate brings across project management, operations, and commercial proposal work.\r\nBenefits & Work Environment\r\nCompany-paid medical insurance\r\nCompany-paid short-term disability insurance\r\nCompany-paid long-term disability insurance\r\n11 paid holidays annually\r\nFamily-friendly scheduling with flexibility when possible\r\nWe value work-life balance; however, this role can be demanding during critical development and production phases.
