We have offices in Pune and Bangalore, India and in the United States in California and Texas.\r\nRoles\r\nStaff/Senior Staff Software Engineer, Multiple Openings\r\nLocations\r\nSan Francisco Bay Area\r\nPosition\r\nFull time with immediate start\r\nSkills and Qualifications Required\r\nBachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or related engineering fields\r\n8+ years of software development with C and C++ languages in a Linux in an embedded or server environment\r\nExperience with application engineering and customer support roles – interacting with customers and providing an engineering interface to FAE (Field Applications Engineering) teams.\r\nHands-on experience with customer interaction, understanding customer workloads, debugging, and determining performance bottlenecks.\r\nProgramming experience with the Linux kernel internals, device drivers for multi-core SoCs, Linux networking and PCIe sub-systems.\r\nExperience with the GNU/LLVM tool chain and debuggers like GDB.\r\nHands-on programming and debugging experience with board bring-up and BSP delivery.\r\nKnowledge of CPU architecture including CPU cores, caches, and memory sub-systems\r\nKnowledge of hardware and motherboard design and server system features\r\nExperience developing customer facing documentation, application notes, release notes, user manuals and other collateral.\r\nAbility to work independently across geographies with sales and FAE teams.\r\nExcellent problem-solving and debugging skills and good English communications skills, both verbal and writing\r\nSkills and Qualifications Desirable\r\nGood understanding of CPU architecture, ARM or X86\r\nDevelopment experience with Virtualization and Hypervisors including KVM and QEMU\r\nHands-on implementation with writing new PCIe or ethernet drivers in Linux\r\nPorting an existing driver from one architecture to a different one\r\nLinux Kernel crash debug\r\nHow to add instrumentation to root cause the issue to a software or hardware bug.\r\nLinux Kernel performance optimization\r\nKnowledge of perf, oprofile, flame graphs and getting visibility into performance bottlenecks\r\nBASE SALARY RANGE\r\n$105,000 TO $260,000 per year\r\nEEOE\r\nVentana is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer.
