This hands-on position offers the chance to lead prototype builds, collaborate on cutting-edge systems, and drive the transfer to production partners, contributing directly to innovative manufacturing solutions.\nLocation: This position requires full on-site presence at our Austin, TX facility to ensure seamless collaboration and hands-on support for daily operations. Relocation assistance is available for non-local candidates.\nWhat you'll do\nDesign electrical panels, cabling, and integration schemes for systems incorporating sensors, actuators, motion controls, cameras, and computers\nUtilize electrical schematic software to create detailed diagrams and layouts\nProvide direction to a small team of technicians in assembling and testing first-article custom equipment\nOversee the transfer of designs and build processes to domestic partners for low-volume duplication, including documentation and training\nCollaborate with mechanical, software, and optics engineers to ensure seamless system integration and resolve issues\nMaintain meticulous documentation of designs, builds, and modifications to support scalability\nPerform hands-on assembly and integration, balancing design work with practical implementation to refine prototypes\nThe experience you bring\n3+ years of relevant professional experience in designing and building electrical panels/cabling for manufacturing or automation equipment\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field\nProficiency in electrical schematic software ( Altium or equivalent)\nProficiency in mechanical CAD tools (CREO or equivalent)\nStrong understanding of precision components such as sensors, actuators, motion control, and vision systems\nExcellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail for managing documentation, timelines, and workflows\nHands-on experience in equipment assembly and integration in lab or build environments\nAbility to lead small teams and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners\nWillingness to travel occasionally for partner handoffs or on-site support\nIt's exciting if you also have\nBackground in precision optics or semiconductor manufacturing equipment\nProject management experience, including tools for tracking builds and transfers\nStrong problem-solving abilities in fast-paced, custom engineering settings\nAdditional Information\nAll your information will be kept confidential according to Equal Employment Opportunities guidelines.\nPlease note that we do not accept any application documents via (e-)mail.
