Come join the excellence!OverviewThe Software area is responsible for the development of computer programming systems and applications including the design, coding, testing and deployment of products and solutions to meet firm obligations.ResponsibilitiesJava Software Developer (Data Notification Manager)Position SummaryWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate Java Software Engineer to join our Financial Markets technology team. This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience developing and supporting enterprise software used by leading financial institutions and market participants.The role will primarily support our Data Notification Manager (DNM) product, a platform that helps clients manage and monitor market data-related notifications and workflows. The role will focus on enhancing our automated testing capabilities, validating data quality, and contributing to product development and operational support efforts.This position is ideal for a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field who is interested in enterprise software development, automation, and financial technology.ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and expand an automated test framework for the Data Notification Manager platformCreate and maintain automated test cases to improve product quality, reliability, and regression coverageAssist in reviewing, validating, and analyzing data within the application to ensure accuracy and consistencyInvestigate data discrepancies and help identify root causes of issuesCollaborate with software engineers and product stakeholders to understand requirements and expected system behaviorSupport software development efforts, including coding enhancements, bug fixes, and maintenance activitiesAssist with troubleshooting and support tasks related to the platformParticipate in team meetings, code reviews, and agile development activitiesDocument testing approaches, findings, and technical processesQualificationsRequired:Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical disciplineExperience with or coursework in Java programmingStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsAttention to detail and an interest in software quality and testingAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a team environmentStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred:Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and testing methodologiesExposure to SQL/databases (e.g., PostgreSQL or relational databases)Familiarity with Linux/Unix environmentsExperience with source control systems such as GitExposure to web applications, APIs, or enterprise software environmentsInterest in financial technology or capital marketsWhat You’ll GainHands-on experience building automated testing frameworks for enterprise softwareExposure to real-world software development practices and agile teamsMentorship from experienced engineers and product professionalsExperience working with data-intensive systems in the financial markets technology spaceOpportunities to contribute to software development, support, and product improvement initiativesFor this role, we anticipate paying $18 - $22 per hour. Any compensation range provided for a role is an estimate determined by available market data.
