description:\nAn Lanterne Dx Pathologist provides professional oversight and direction of clinical pathology services including quality assurance functions, medical directorship where indicated (per CAP/CLIA), and technical direction as required.\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nPerform duties as Laboratory Director.\nProvide accurate and timely diagnosis of the presence and stage of disease from a tissue specimen, utilizing appropriate laboratory procedures.\nBe familiar with and able to recommend clinically appropriate testing, including immunohistochemistry (IHC) and in situ hybridization (ISH).\nTakes the initiative to improve quality in the workplace.\nParticipates in and coordinates QA activities to ensure quality care and evaluates the effectiveness of quality assurance policies and procedures to enhance standards and excellence of service in the laboratory and Company.\nProvides others with the support necessary to successfully accomplish daily activities while monitoring and controlling costs.\nProvides consultation to clients regarding study design and clinical significance of laboratory results and data.\nMaintains confidentiality of sensitive information concerning patient samples, employees, clients, vendors, and the Company.\nActively builds upon education and experience through Continuing Medical Education (CME) to maintain licensure/credentials.\nProvide educational services, conferences, and instruction where required.\nComplies with all State, Federal, professional regulations as well as Company rules, polices, and procedural manuals.\nRegulations and Documentation\nOperational support and coordination with QA (Quality Assurance), laboratory departments, and BD (Business Development).\nDocumenting the review and reading of all Lanterne Dx Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)\nUpdating and maintaining SOPs as requested.\nAssisting in business audits\nIdentify, develop, and execute short- and long-term strategic business opportunities to expand HTLC’s clientele and services.\nActively network within the industry to establish and retain relationships as well as identify business opportunities.\n\nQualifications:\nMD or DO degree plus accredited pathology residency.\nMust be board certified in anatomic and clinical pathology.\n2-3 years post residency experience desired.\nMust hold valid unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state where practice is located or be eligible to obtain licensure.\nFinger dexterity required to manipulate the micro-thin tissue sections and to mount onto microscope slides\nColor discrimination required to verify diagnostic quality of staining processes in order that essential features of tissue sections can be properly defined.\nWilling to work in a biohazard environment and follow safety policies and standards outlined in the Safety Manual.\n\nPhysical and Mental Requirements:\nAbility to spend consecutive hours with continued focus, interpreting tissues and cellular preparations through a microscope.\nAbility to visually, audibly, and physically perform all job functions.\n\nLifting Requirements:\nMedium – generally not lifting more than 50 lbs. maximum with
