The candidate must have a strong background in database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards.\nDatabase Administrator responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:\n\nEstablishes and maintains database performance standards; monitors system usage; analyzes database performance and performs system optimization tasks to maintain data availability and ensure system responsiveness to user queries.\nDevises and maintains data security and integrity standards; implements security access levels in accordance with management specifications.\nDiagnoses and resolves database system performance problems.\nArchive data; maintains archival and active records; performs data back-up and recovery.\nEvaluates system and user needs and makes recommendations for increased system capacity.\nPlan and implement database conversion projects and the migration and upgrade of databases to new versions and servers.\nMonitors network traffic and communications usage patterns; configures or modifies network configuration to meet system demands and capacity planning needs.\nRequired Skills, Knowledge and Abilities\n\nKnowledge of principles and practices of database development, management, warehousing and administration.\nKnowledge of hierarchical and relational database management system software programming languages.\nKnowledge of operating system software.\nKnowledge of database security practices to monitor, control and evaluate user access, logons, permissions and related variables.\nKnowledge of methods for ensuring, protecting and resolving problems involving the security of information systems.\nKnowledge of archival, back-up and recovery methods.\nStrong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server.\nExperience with Azure SQL (Azure SQL Database or Managed Instance), including security administration, monitoring, and backup/recovery in Azure.\nFamiliarity with Azure data tools such as Azure Data Factory or Azure Database Migration Service for moving data from legacy systems into SQL Server.\nSkill in developing database queries and generating reports.\nAbility to interview users and extract pertinent information for development of database query system and report generation, database model design and upgrades.\nAbility to implement, control and evaluate database management systems.\nAbility to prepare user documentation and train users in database capabilities and procedures for accessing data.\nAbility to analyze, apply logic and solve technology problems.\nAbility to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, management, technical co-workers and support specialists, and system users.\nMinimum Education and Experience Requirements:\n\nA bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information systems, computer science or a related field and strong experience in database management including performance optimization and troubleshooting, and implementing, maintaining and controlling hierarchical or relational database management systems.\nEquivalencies:\n\nAn equivalent combination of education and experience.\nBALTIMORE CITY RESIDENTS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO APPLY.\nFor Immediate Response send your resume to RecruiterPS@Trigyn.com or call 703-454-2948.\nTrigyn-8181\nTRIGYN TECHNOLOGIES, INC. is an EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYER and has been in business for 35 years.
