JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.\r\nJob Summary - Essential Functions and Duties\r\nEvaluates system specifications, configures virtual and physical computer systems, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains development workstations and cloud server systems.\r\nResponsibilities — You Will:\r\nPerform the daily operational support on the virtual machine operating system for development workstations and application servers, to include system security, access control, configuration, and automated backup.\r\nSpecify virtual machine compute, store, and network requirements, monitor network and virtual machine performance, troubleshoot virtual networking hardware and ensure systems are functional and performing.\r\nProvide operational status metrics to JT4 and government leadership, as required.\r\nAnalyze system logs and identify and remediate potential issues with development computer systems and virtual application servers.\r\nUtilize automated tools for system configuration management and vulnerability analysis and remediate vulnerabilities and non-compliant configurations in accordance with the System Security Plan.\r\nGenerate documentation of configuration, policy, and procedures used in the Risk Management Framework System Authorization process, when required by the Information System Security Manager (ISSM).\r\nInteract daily with the development team, ensuring their system administration needs are met and informing the supervisor of any blockers or critical status updates.\r\nTrack hardware assets used by the development team, including network machines and development machines, reporting status to government Equipment Custodian, as required.\r\nUse established policies and procedures and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimal supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution.\r\nAttend meetings, deliver reports, and act as the supervisor's delegate, as required.\r\nPerform other assigned duties, as required.\r\nRequired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities — You Need:\r\nIn-depth knowledge of Microsoft Windows desktop and server operating systems\r\nWorking knowledge of operation and maintenance of Linux operating systems\r\nWorking understanding of principles and maintenance of virtual and cloud systems\r\nSkills to secure configuration of development laptops and virtual workstations and servers\r\nEssential understanding of software development concepts, agile methodology, CI/CD and DevSecOps principles\r\nEffective time management skills and strong oral and written communication skills\r\nAdditional Valuable Skills — You Should Have:\r\nExperience with AWS cloud system administration, including EC2 and EBS\r\nUnderstanding of DoW security tools for vulnerability management, configuration management, and malware prevention\r\nFunctional knowledge of the Atlassian suite of development tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)\r\nFunctional knowledge of deployment tools (Jenkins, Artifactory, Gitlab pipelines)\r\nExperience with Azure cloud systems and AzureDevOps\r\nDoD Developmental Test & Evaluation Community Experience\r\nUnderstanding of SQL Database tools (Oracle SQL Developer)\r\nEssential knowledge of containerization, (Docker, Podman)\r\nBasic understanding of Waterfall development methodology\r\nRequirements – Education, Technical, and Work Experience\r\nBachelor's degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience. Must have specific experience in the maintenance of Operating Systems and support applications, in a centralized and distributed server environment.
