Job DescriptionMechanical Superintendent - Mission Critical ConstructionLocation: Northern IndianaWe are seeking an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to support the delivery of large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects in Northern Indiana. This role will be responsible for leading all field activities related to mechanical systems installation, ensuring safe, high-quality, and on-schedule execution across complex mechanical scopes.The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HVAC, piping, plumbing, and large-scale mechanical systems within commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environments, with proven ability to lead field teams and subcontractors in fast-paced construction settings.ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day field operations for mechanical construction activitiesOversee installation of HVAC systems, chillers, cooling towers, CRAH/CRAC units, ductwork, and associated mechanical infrastructureManage piping systems including chilled water, condenser water, and mechanical process pipingCoordinate plumbing scopes including domestic water, sanitary, and storm systemsSupervise mechanical subcontractors, foremen, and field crews to ensure productivity and quality standardsCoordinate closely with general contractors, MEP partners, engineers, and commissioning teamsEnsure all work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and applicable codesConduct daily site coordination meetings, safety briefings, and progress trackingMonitor installation sequencing to align with project schedule and critical path activitiesSupport commissioning, startup, testing, and turnover of mechanical systemsMaintain detailed field documentation including daily reports, manpower tracking, and progress updatesEnforce strict safety compliance and promote a strong safety culture across all mechanical activitiesQualifications5-10+ years of experience in mechanical construction or HVAC/piping supervisionStrong experience in large commercial, industrial, or mission-critical environmentsKnowledge of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, piping infrastructure, and plumbing coordinationAbility to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and construction documentsExperience supervising subcontractors and managing large field teamsStrong understanding of construction sequencing, coordination, and field logisticsExcellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skillsExperience working on data center, manufacturing, healthcare, or large infrastructure projects preferredOSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety training preferredPreferred BackgroundsCandidates may come from mechanical contractors, HVAC contractors, plumbing contractors, or MEP firms delivering large-scale commercial or mission-critical projects.Experience supporting data center environments or other highly coordinated, fast-track construction programs is highly desirable.What We're Looking ForWe are seeking a proactive and highly experienced field leader who can successfully manage mechanical construction activities on complex mission-critical projects.
