{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"bcf03859669463e02cad45d2","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/bcf03859669463e02cad45d2","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/bcf03859669463e02cad45d2","title":"EHS Manager","description":"Core Responsibilities Develop, implement and sustain effective safety and health systems and processes designed to eliminate injuries, minimize risk, maintain regulatory compliance and reduce losses.\nProvide leadership in the transformation of a safety culture based on employee involvement and engagement.\nPossess a strong “shop floor” presence and serve as a coach/mentor to provide all employees with the skills needed to identify and resolve safety issues.\nEnsure continuous improvement and continuity of established safety policies, programs and processes.\nSupporting Activities Analyze safety-related issues and concerns, incident investigations and trends to recommend courses of action/corrective action to prevent recurrence.\nSupport the Company safety management system and data management system.\nFacilitate incident investigations, root cause analysis, and closure of corrective actions.\nRecommend and implement improvements in processes, design, procedures, and operating equipment, to minimize the hazardous potential (e.g. lockout, confined space entry, hot work, etc.).\nManage Union-hourly safety representatives and provide direction to their day‑to‑day activities.\nProvide insight, strategies and plans to achieve Plant goals based upon best practice information.\nEstablish and implement Plant‑wide safety communications to ensure employees are aware of potential hazards and unsafe conditions.\nCollaborate with other Appvion locations to share and adopt best practices.\nDevelop and conduct employee safety and health training and emergency preparedness.\nMeasure, audit, evaluate and improve the effectiveness of safety programs.\nDirect and coordinate the administration of OSHA regulations, including review interpretation, and implementation of standards. Ensure accurate reporting as required.\nDevelop and administer company safety policies and procedures.\nWork closely with the Company Medical Director and Occupational Health Nurse on Workers Compensation cases and other issues.\nCo‑chair the Plant‑wide Safety Steering Team.\nRequired Prior Accomplishments, Experience, Skills Bachelor’s degree in safety sciences, Environmental Science, or closely related field (CSP preferred or working toward certificate).\nMinimum of 5 - 7 years professional safety and health experience in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong leadership skills, experience driving cultural change and the ability to influence others while delivering results.\nExperience with emergency response (e.g. first aid, CPR, confined space rescue, spill & fire) preferred.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize as needed.\nExcellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to interact with all levels of management and hourly personnel.\nProficient in the use of computer software (Word, Excel, Power Point).\nPrior experience in a union environment preferred.\nEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities.
