This position is responsible for leading a group of engineers and/or team leads in completing multiple large or complex simultaneous projects: design execution, quality, and mentoring. Other responsibilities include assisting with engineering group resource planning and assigning of projects.\n\nEssential Duties & Responsibilities\n\nSupervision and development of engineering teams specializing in one or more of ACCO’s design build services, such as HVAC, Plumbing, Process Piping, Industrial, Refrigeration, or Controls. Engineering Management may require that an Engineering Supervisor’s area of focus change within these specialties as dictated by the needs of the company.\nDirect mentoring and training of engineers and Team Leads\nAssign, coordinate and schedule all incoming projects\nEnsure Project Managers defined scope is provided and delivered in accordance with project schedules\nEnsure application and constructability reviews are conducted on projects\nDaily supervision of engineering personnel\nAssist in development and ongoing maintenance of standard BIM and engineering practices including quality assurance process and procedures\nAssist in performance reviews for Engineering Department personnel and make recommendations to Engineering Manager\nAssist with pre-sales efforts including system selection / evaluation, code and application review\nEvaluate potential projects and approaches to minimize corporate risk in conjunction with Engineering Manager\nDevelop a collaborative and engaged culture between engineers and other departments\nMaintain engineering standards and policies in conjunction with Engineering Manager\nEffectively and professionally communicate with colleagues and project team members\nManage time to meet project schedules and task deadlines\nOther duties as assigned by Manager\n\nPosition Requirements:\n\nBS in Engineering or Construction Management\n7+ years of experience with 4 years in a leadership position managing engineers\nProfessional Engineer license highly desirable\nExcellent understanding of engineering fundamentals and constructability\nExcellent familiarity with Building Codes and industry standards\nStrong understanding of building modeling\nSkilled in developing teams and managing people\n\nACCO Competencies:\n\nProactivity / Initiative: Recognizes what needs to be done and accomplishes it in a manner appropriate for one’s level/position and with minimal supervision.\nPerseverance: Shows the wherewithal to fight for difficult goals despite challenges and to bounce back from adversity.\nInsight: The ability to gather and make sense of information that suggests new possibilities.\nEngagement: Shows a knack for using emotion and logic to communicate a persuasive vision and connect with people.\nTeamwork: The ability to effectively work toward common goals with others by supporting, encouraging, and sharing information in an authentic and approachable manner.\nBig Picture: Understands and contributes to organizations’ short- and long-term business strategy.
