This position provides support to maintenance when required for complex troubleshooting and repair.\r\nThis position requires attention to detail, the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and a strong commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality-reflecting Plaskolite's core values ofIntegrity and Improvement.\r\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\r\nSets up equipment and automation as required for support of production and engineering efforts\r\nAdheres to all applicable regulations, policies, and procedures for health, safety, and environmental compliance.\r\nInspects finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.\r\nSets up and operates production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.\r\nCalibrates or adjusts equipment to ensure quality production, using tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, protractors, or ring gauges.\r\nSets up and verifies the functionality of safety equipment.\r\nMonitors and adjusts production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.\r\nTroubleshoots problems with equipment, devices, or products.\r\nWill be placed in an on-call rotation.\r\nTests products or subassemblies for functionality or quality.\r\nPlans and lays out work to meet production and schedule requirements.\r\nStarts up and shuts down processing equipment.\r\nPerforms routine maintenance on equipment and determines when and what kind of maintenance is needed.\r\nDevelops a thorough understanding of the operational theory, maintenance requirements, and operational procedures for all equipment under the engineering support technician's control.\r\nDevelops and validates operations and maintenance procedures as required to ensure reliability and availability of all equipment under the engineering technician's control.\r\nTests and/or troubleshoots PLC programs used for process automation and control.\r\nMonitors and maintains coating chemistry as required.\r\nKeeps well-organized written records of all troubleshooting, setup, and testing activities performed.\r\nImproves process reliability and automation, where practical, to the point that production personnel own the process and require limited engineering support.\r\nRecommends improvements to existing processes and procedures which will increase productivity, reduce operational costs, improve margins, improve safety, and/or improve MXL product quality.\r\nAssists others by providing professional, technical guidance.\r\nAttends meetings to provide technical support and direction.\r\nCommunicates with co-workers, management, customers, vendors and others in a courteous, respectful and professional manner.\r\nConforms with and abide by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.\r\nConforms to all safety rules and use all appropriate safety equipment.\r\nAll other duties as assigned.\r\nQualifications\r\nEducation and Experience:\r\nHigh school diploma or GED\r\nTechnical school - preferred\r\n2 years of mechanical or maintenance trades\r\nPLC and Robotics troubleshooting - preferred\r\nSkills and Competencies:\r\nAccountability-Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.\r\nAnalytical Skills-Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem.\r\nCustomer Oriented-Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures.\r\nDeductive Reasoning-Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.\r\nDetail Oriented-Ability to pay attention to the minute details of a project or task.\r\nEthical-Ability to demonstrate conduct conforming to a set of values and accepted standards.\r\nInnovative-Ability to look beyond the standard solutions.\r\nOrganized-Possessing the trait of being organized or following a systematic method of performing a task.\r\nProblem Solving-Ability to find a solution for or to deal proactively with work-related problems.\r\nQuality Commitment-Establishes and maintains processes, practices and systems that meet or exceed standards.\r\nResearch Skills-Ability to design and conduct a systematic, objective, and critical investigation.\r\nSafety Awareness-Ability to identify and correct conditions that affect employee safety.\r\nTeamwork-Ability to work cooperatively with others to get the job done.\r\nMicrosoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook)\r\nManual dexterity and fine manipulation skills essential\r\nCommunication-Speak, write and read the English language at the conversational level.\r\nOral Comprehension-The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.\r\nWritten Comprehension-The ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing\r\nReading Comprehension-Understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.\r\nCompensation $32 - $34 per hour;
