Find your future with us.\nThe Boeing Company’s Global Services (BGS) C-17 team is seeking a Guidance Navigation and Controls System Engineer (Associate) for exciting opportunities within the C-17 Avionics & Flight Controls (AVFC) team to develop and test associated systems, located in Long Beach, CA. A high-wing, four-engine, T-tailed aircraft with a rear-loading ramp, the C-17 can carry large combat equipment and troops or humanitarian aid across international distances directly to small austere airfields anywhere in the world. The C-17 Globemaster III aircraft will fulfill military and humanitarian airlift needs well into the 21st century.\nPosition responsibilities:\nWork in a collaborative environment with other team members in the design, analysis, test, and sustainment of the C-17 Flight Control System.\nWork with autopilot, stability augmentation system, primary flight controls, high lift controls, and fly-by-wire control systems.\nWill be assigned work that allows them to enhance skills in the following areas:\nClassical and/or advanced control theory used to support control law development\nCompany, supplier and USAF performance and safety requirements or specifications used to develop flight control systems\nSensors, computers, servo-actuation systems, redundancy management functions, pilot/operator of control systems in both field and development environment.\nFormulate requirements, evaluate control concepts in simulation facilities, document detailed designs for use by software designers, perform lab and flight test validation testing, and use computer workstation analysis and test tools.\nAbility to work onsite 5 days per week.\nAbility to travel domestically in support of Lab/Flight Test and Air Force customer meetings may be required.\nBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):\nBachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry required.\n1+ years of experience in fixed-wing aircraft systems and the feedback control of airplanes\nPreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):\nGood to excellent verbal and written communication skills\nAbility to work with a diverse group of people and organizations\nWorking knowledge of Matlab/Simulink\nRelocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
