Communications Field Technician

Communications Technician is a result driven and customer service oriented who possess skills required to program, setup and install communications and/or satellite equipment as well as monitoring equipment performance on remote worksite locations. Communications Technician (I, II, or III) with experience levels that ranges from entry-level to 5+ years experience. You will be an integral part of helping grow our exciting new LEO Sat communications division. Communication Technician is required to operate safely, follow all federal and state safety regulations and always offer an excellent customer service.
Responsibilities:
Safety
Work safely or not at all. Value and follow all safe work practices, company policies, and client worksite regulations
Champion EnerStar Guiding Values
Follow all EnerStar safety and customer safety protocols
Participate in job safety meetings prior to start of an assigned task or project
Maintain truck logs and vehicle inspection reports (MyGeotab, DVIR)
Maintain, schedule, and complete all truck PM (oil changes)
Must be physically fit and able to lift 50lbs unassisted
Repeatedly ascend and descend ladders
Customer Service
Communicate and work in a courteous professional manner with co-workers and rig site personnel
Some overnight travel will be required, daily travel to jobsite will be required, flexible to work long hours
Operational
Respond to all service calls as assigned by manager
Fill out Field Cap work order tickets with proper level of detail
Fill out KPA communications inventory forms with proper level of details (Rig up, Rig down, Rig move, maintenance/repair, site Inventory)
Technical
Deployment of Communications systems, mobilizing and demobilizing the units when needed and ensuring the proper operational functionality of systems
Ability to log into EnGenius cloud to check parameters in access points, switches, gateways
Help in deployment of camera systems
Must be able to install/setup a Starlink
Skills and Qualifications
Ability to work well individually or as a team member
Constantly display professional demeanor
Computer proficient
Some technical skills in telecom, network design, cable or similar
Learn how to make and rig up RJ-45, coaxial, LMR240, LMR400 cables and ends
Ability to learn to configure, deploy and support satellite systems for internet access
Proficiently program basic equipment
Ability to repair electronics equipment an asset
Ability to learn to use a Signal Finder to optimize antenna positioning for peak signal strength
Ability to learn how to set up comms towers and associated booster equipment
Education and Experience
Telecommunication: 1 year (Preferred)
1+ years of experience working in technical teams, preferred
Any experience installing any or all of internet, cable, intercom, telecom, satellite, or remote monitoring equipment
If no experience will train on the job the right person
High School or equivalent, College Diploma or equivalent an asset

50% (Preferred)
Must be flexible to work occasional longer hours and weekends, some on call required. Some overnight travel could be required, daily travel to jobsite will be required. A company work vehicle will be supplied.
