Because we all understand that we must work together to win.\n\nCONTROLS ENGINEER\nCOMSTOCK PARK, MI\nNATURE OF WORK:\nThe Controls Engineer reports to the Controls Manager. Lear designs, builds, and installs equipment for Lear plants globally. Our portfolio includes ASRS systems, automated conveyor, pallet elevators, stackers/destackers, pallet turntables, automatic labelers, shipping trailers, and build line integration. At Lear, we are always looking to incorporate new technologies into our seating plants.\n\nEXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED\n\nFollows health, safety, environmental regulations, and safety protocols (safety harnesses, fork truck, scissor lift, boom lifts, LOTO)\n\nBuilds mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among all team members\n\nCommunicate across cross-functional groups\n\nResponsible for projects from technical specification to startup support\n\nDesign and develop all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and programming using Lear standards and build upon with innovative ideas\n\nWrite, implement, and debug PLC software\n\nProvide support to existing Lear automated equipment globally\n\nDevelop predictive maintenance indicators to increase reliability and reduce downtime – (CBM, Industry 4.0)\n\nDevelop contingency and disaster recovery plans\n\nKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, And ABILITIES\n\nMust be a self-starter, team player, work well with others, and have a positive attitude\n\nMust be a creative thinker, results oriented, focused, and attentive to detail and accuracy\n\nExpert in RSLogix5000, Studio5000, and FactoryTalk View Studio\n\nKnowledgeable of I/O link, AB components, drive control, Keyence cameras\n\nAbility to read and create electrical drawings in AutoCAD\n\nMust have ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines\n\nUnderstand and communicate applicable safety standards: general industry, machine guarding, robot safety, automated vehicles, conveyor safety\n\nSelf-driven and willingness to work long hours during installations, if required\n\nWillingness to travel globally 40% of the year\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering\n\n3+ years’ experience in a controls engineering role at an automation/machine build shop.\n\nLear Corporation is an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to a diverse workplace.\n\nApplicants must submit their resume for consideration using our applicant tracking system.
