This is a hands-on leadership role supporting end users while maintaining a stable, secure, and cost-effective on-prem environment. This position involves light SQL Server Administration in support of Epicor Kinetic and is not a dedicated DBA or Epicor developer role.\r\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\r\nInfrastructure and Service Management\r\nAdministrator and maintain Windows Server environments (2003-2022+).\r\nManage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and file/print services.\r\nOversee virtualization platforms (Hyper-V).\r\nManage physical servers, SAN/NAS storage, and datacenter equipment.\r\nPlan and execute server upgrades, Epicor Kinetic infrastructure changes, and hardware refresh cycles.\r\nEpicor Kinetic ERP and SQL Server Support\r\nServe as the primary IT contact for Epicor Kinetic ERP infrastructure and availability.\r\nAdminister Microsoft SQL Server at a light operational level in support of Epicor Kinetic, including:\r\nMonitoring database health, disk usage, and scheduled jobs.\r\nManaging SQL Server backups, restores, and recovery upgrades.\r\nApplying patches and coordinating version upgrades.\r\nManaging basic SQL security (logins, roles, service accounts).\r\nCoordinate with Epicor support, Epicor partners, and consultants for upgrades, patches, and issue resolution.\r\nSupport Epicor Kinetic reporting, integration, and user access issues. (No Epicor development, BPM design, or advanced SQL tuning required).\r\nSecurity, Backup, and Disaster Recovery\r\nImplement and enforce on-prem security best practices across servers and Epicor-related systems.\r\nMaintain system patching, endpoint protection, and monitoring.\r\nEnsure Epicor Kinetic databases are included in backup and disaster recovery strategies.\r\nMaintain offsite or immutable backups and periodically test restores.\r\nDocument and test disaster recovery procedures for ERP systems.\r\nEnd-User and Operational Support\r\nProvide escalation support for Epicor Kinetic users and related applications.\r\nManage user onboarding/off boarding (Active Directory, Epicor access, permissions).\r\nSupport Windows endpoints using Group Policy, WSUS, or similar tools.\r\nTroubleshoot networking, printers, scanners, and shop-floor or warehouse systems.\r\nLeadership and Planning\r\nLead and support a small IT staff and/or external vendors.\r\nManage IT budgets, licensing, and Epicor maintenance agreements.\r\nDevelop and maintain IT and ERP-related documentation and procedures.\r\nServe as the primary IT and Epicor infrastructure advisor to leadership.\r\nPlan system improvements while maintaining an on-prem-first Epicor Kinetic strategy.\r\nQUALIFICATIONS – REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE\r\nBachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.\r\nMinimum 4 years' experience supporting on-prem Microsoft server environments.\r\nExperience supporting Epicor Kinetic ERP or Epicor Classic transitioning to Kinetic.\r\nHands-on experience with:\r\nWindows Server.\r\nActive Directory and Group Policy.\r\nBasic SQL Server administration (Epicor support).\r\nVirtualization (Hyper-V or VMware).\r\nNetworking fundamentals (switches, firewalls, VLANs).\r\nExperience working in a small IT team or as a primary IT resource.\r\nStrong troubleshooting and documentation skills.\r\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\r\nExperience with Epicor Kinetic upgrades, patches, and version transitions.\r\nFamiliarity with Epicor administration tools and user security.\r\nPowerShell scripting and automation.\r\nExperience with backup and disaster recovery platforms (e.g., Veeam).\r\nExperience in manufacturing or distribution environments.\r\nMicrosoft or Epicor-related certifications.\r\nCORE COMPETENCIES\r\nStrong infrastructure and ERP support mindset.\r\nFocus on uptime, data integrity, and recoverability.\r\nClear communication with business users, vendors, and leadership.\r\nAbility to manage priorities in a lean IT environment.\r\nPractical, service-oriented approach.\r\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\r\nWork will be performed in office, on-site.
