The Charge Nurse reports to the Nurse Manager. Under general supervision, renders professional nursing care to adults and geriatric patients of other ages when indicated through the use of the nursing process and through the promotion and maintenance and teaching of health. Supervises the provision of nursing care rendered by RN’s, LPN’s, CNA’s and Unit Secretaries by assigning and reviewing work, and providing instructions on various techniques. Additional Job Description
Minimum Training and Education: Associate degree in nursing required. Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred.
Required Licensure, Certifications, Registrations: Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state. Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association required based on department.
