If you join us in this position, you will assist in development, qualification, and acceptance testing for the Haven-1 program. This role is for a hands-on person with great attention to detail and excellent people skills.\nThis will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location.\nResponsibilities:\nWork with Responsible Engineers (RE) to design, prepare, and execute test campaigns. This includes the creation of new test stands and/or operation of existing resources\nOwn and perform all necessary design, analysis, and project management from start to finish to make test concepts a reality\nConduct PDRs (Preliminary Design Reviews), CDRs (Critical Design Reviews), and TRRs (Test Readiness Reviews) before all design/tests are started\nIncorporate continuous learning/improvement and share it with your team members\nWork under the direction of the Structures & Mechanism Test Manager to develop and execute testing on primary / secondary structures of the Haven-1 Space Station\nProactive problem-solving skills such as failure analysis and root cause investigation\nAdhere to, enforce, and improve the test processes and best practices of Vast and the test organization\nProduce professional and traceable documentation, including electrical, mechanical, and fluid schematics of the test systems\nMinimum Qualifications:\nB.S. Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 1-3 years of engineering experience\n2+ years of experience in a 'hands-on' engineering environment (Test, Launch, Manufacturing, Etc.)\nPreferred Skills & Experience:\nAbility to design and perform product testing based on the requirements provided in SMC-S-016, GEVS NASA-STD-7000a, MIL STD 810G. etc.\nOwn assembly, checkouts and continuous improvement of test stands\nDesign work in recent versions of NX, Teamcenter\nAnalysis work in recent versions of Ansys, Femap/Nastran, Abaqus\nExperience with GD&T implementation and analysis (ASME Y14.5)\nFamiliarity with Weld Sizing, Hand Calculations and Simulation\nLimited experience writing, releasing and executing test plans/procedures in collaboration with Responsible Engineers\nExperience in structural design and analysis of test fixtures to meet test requirements\nAdditional Requirements:\nMust be able to travel to our Mojave Test site (up to 20% travel)\nMust be able to work varying hours/shifts and available for extended hours as well as weekends when needed\nMust be able to stoop, bend, crawl, and be able to maneuver in tight spaces; physically able to handle items weighing up to 25lbs (unassisted)\nPay Range:\nTest Engineer II: $110,000 - $142,100\nSenior Test Engineer: $135,800 - $176,400\nPay Range: California\n$110,000 - $176,400 USD\nCOMPENSATION AND BENEFITS\nBase salary will vary depending on job-related knowledge, education, skills, experience, business needs, and market demand.
