Understands and adheres to all Standard Operating Procedures. Set up and operate all special functions and capabilities with minimal supervision or direction. Train other employees when requested or required to do so. Analyze issues, determine, and implement solutions. Provide innovative / creative solutions for opportunities and or improvements.\n\nClassification: Full-Time-Hourly\nReports To: Shift Supervisor\nShifts: Days-6PM-6AM based on a 2-2-3 schedule (overtime as needed based on business needs).\nCompensation & Growth: Competitive starting pay of $18–$21/hr, plus career growth opportunities with potential to earn higher wages (up to $32/hr) as you advance within Pregis.\n\nPress Operator Essential Functions and Responsibilities\n\nConsistently demonstrates leadership qualities. Uses leadership skills to direct crews in the efficient.\noperation of the company’s production equipment.\n\nReads and understand all information on job ticket pertaining to a specific job. Ensures that all necessary components to produce the job are present. Does not move forward on any job with conflicting information.\nStrong inline finishing skill set that leads to a full understanding of how to achieve print quality and register equipment to produce required quality and can achieve acceptable registration within specified M/R standards.\nHas complete understanding and ability to operate all line ancillary equipment.\nStrong inline finishing skill set that leads to a full understanding and ability to effectively set up and operate all inline equipment (i.e. gluing, Labeling, Straub Applicators etc.) as well as rotary cutter with minimal supervision.\nUnderstands tension controls and ancillary equipment. Knowledge of how to web up the line, capable of setting cylinders and plates. Has the ability to perform minor mechanical repairs and adjustments.\nEfficiently operates in line systems with minimal supervision.\nMaintains 100% of standards in productivity, waste and quality standards. Accurately enters all codes for quantities, materials, and times onto required paperwork.\nUnderstands and demonstrates ability to accurately tracking line counts.\nPerforms necessary functions to operate the line with minimal supervision. Establishes and promotes an environment for learning and process improvement. Consistently looks for improvements and efficiencies to reduce waste and increase production within quality standards set.\nWorks within all safety guidelines and procedures. Maintains a clean and safe work environment.\nEnsure the maintenance of departmental housekeeping standards.\nEnsure compliance with all safety and work rules and regulations.\nInteracts well between shifts to gain and pass along all information to facilitate a smooth transition without interruption.\nEducation and/or Experience\n\nMinimum 1-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience in driving a sit-down forklift.\nEnvironment\n\nExposure to moving equipment.\nInside work\nHeat may exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit.\nHumidity may exceed 80%\nNoise may exceed 85dB+\nPersonal Protective Equipment required.\nPhysical Characteristics\n\nFrequent standing, stooping, sitting\nFrequent lifting, pushing, pulling (up to 50lbs.)\nOccasional typing/keyboarding\n#PFC1\n\nDiversity and Inclusion\n\nWe believe in diversity of thought and bringing together other traits and characteristics that make an individual bring a unique experience to Pregis.
